MacBook Pro A1990 820-01041A strange / inverted colors and faded look on display

Hi all,

i got a A1990 which shows strange colors. Sometimes looking faded or like a water mark and only visible when the cursor moves over the spot. With an external display everything looks fine.
So is there anything i can do on my own to fix this issue?
It doesn't look like the flexgate macs i have seen.

It looks to me that the screen is damaged. I had a screen like this that would have a shimmering effect on some colours and brightness levels. Do you have another screen to try?

Hello,

i was able to fix the issue. The board was covered with some very fine dust and i gave it a good vacuum cleaning and finished with isopropanol. This dust was also inside most of the connectors.
After putting everything back together the macbook started normal and all colors look like they should. :-)
