MacBook Air A2337 820-02016 No Power at 5V-0.42Amp

I've got an A2337 820-02016 that has no power. No sign of liquid damage and no obviously damaged components.
    U8100 is getting HOT.
What could be the issue? Is it bad u8100 or any other specious component which is causing U8100 to fail?

No short on these SMBUS 3v3 pins but also no pull-up voltage to park these open-drain lines.

            See attached.

Confirm if you have a Vin and also the ENABLE (VEN) pin voltage on this LDO.

Check if there is a voltage on PP1V8_AON_MPMU. If not, remove all power, measure the resistance to ground of PP1V8_AON_MPMU.

Something is wrong here. If you have an adjustable power supply, consider to inject 1v (not higher) onto this same rail. Then hunt for who is heating up. If you do not have a thermal camera, the pharmacy grade alcohol from Costco works well. We use that primarily for cleaning but also works to test for heat signatures.

I have checked by injecting 1V. U8100 is getting hot.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
                        by PantherDave
                        Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                        Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

                        Hello everyone,
macbook air a2337 was brought to me dead, no power
The type c meter is stuck on 5v with low absorption and after a while it restarts.
I changed the two cd3217 because there was a low resistance to ground, the resistance is now ok but the problem persists.
These are the lines I measured
                        PPBUS AON: 11.98-12.25V
                        PPDCIN_AON_CHGR_R: 5.12V

Hello, I'm trying to repair my MacBook Air A2337 820-0216-A, which does not start. It's stuck on 5V, the motherboard is not drawing power, and there's no liquid damage or shorts found.

Since I had PPBUS_AON but not PP1V8_AON, I replaced the U710 PMIC chip with one from a working donor motherboard (iCloud). The result is the same. Here are the measurement :

                        3V8_AON : 3V8
                        PPBUS_AON : 12V28
                        PP3V3_S2_UPC : 0V5
                        PP3V3_S2 : 0V
                        PP1V8_AON : 0V no short
                        PP3V8_AON :3V8
                        P3V8AON_PWR_EN_R : 5V
