    Recognising an item on a MacBook Pro 13" 2020 A2251 motherboard

    Hi there, I had a MacBook Pro 13" 2020 A2251 at work, and it suddenly stopped working without having being bad to it (I ride my bike everyday though). I replaced the motherboard so now it works again, but with other data. I would like to repair the 661-15938 motherboard. I spotted where it burned, I saw that there is a post where there are the 820-01949 pdf and bvr but I don't know what to do with it. I tried to install OpenBoardView because it seems like it's what I should use to have a look at the schematic view of my motherboard. But I failed:
    $ git clone --recursive 'https://github.com/OpenBoardView/OpenBoardView'
    Clonage dans 'OpenBoardView'...
    remote: Enumerating objects: 6084, done.
    remote: Counting objects: 100% (1286/1286), done.
    remote: Compressing objects: 100% (477/477), done.
    error: échec RPC ; curl 92 HTTP/2 stream 0 was not closed cleanly: CANCEL (err 8)
    error: 5182 octets de corps sont encore attendus
    fetch-pack: unexpected disconnect while reading sideband packet
    fatal: fin de fichier prématurée
    fatal: fetch-pack : sortie d'index de pack invalide
    But surely some people on this platform can tell me what this item is and whether I have a chance to be able to soldier a new one back? Thanks! Best regards, Kristion

            Correction - openboardview is by piernov. Paul Daniels' s/w is another tool.

              Wow, mon2 Thanks heap, you are great! So it is indeed a badcap! 33μF. Do you know where I can find this kind of cap, I mean with this (very small) kind?

                    Great, thanks! I ordered some (it comes by bunch of 5 costing close to nothing). Now I have to soldier that on board!! That will be a first for me. I saw on some videos that people use a thermal paste but actually I don't know where to begin. I am going to dig the Equipment Usage... forum. Thanks heap folks!!

                      You There is a polarity to this capacitor so be sure to review the datasheet and also the placement of the part you are replacing. Confirm that ground pad is mating to the ground pad of this capacitor. YT will also have many videos on capacitor replacement. Suggest to practice on a donor board that you can pickup off EBay. Watch YT videos from Louis Rossmann and also Alex (Northridge Repair).

                        MacBook Pro A2251 - 820-01949-A not charging
                        by MikoMiko
                        Hello everyone, I have a MacBook Pro 13” 2020 (Four ports) (Model A2251 with the 820-01949-A logicboard). It had some minor liquid damage but I carefully cleaned the logic board with alcohol and let it dry as needed. Now I encounter following situation: The MacBook does start but the Battery is not charging when a cable is plugged in any of the ports (I use the powerbrick and cable that came with the device). It had some charge left, so I could safe some data, but I was limited my the 13% and the speed of airdrop. The liquid-damage is almost only limited to the side of the logic board where...

                        Macbook A2251 no boot

                        The MacBook does not boot. It is restored via DFU without errors. The MacBook charges and consumes 20V/2A. There is no sound when connecting the charger. The caps lock does not light up, but the touchpad clicks. The fans do not rotate. No signs of life. Please advise.

                        MacBook Pro A2251 820-01949-A stuck on 5V
                        by mferna14
                        Hi Dear friend., I am working MacBook Pro A2251 Logic board 820-01949-A. The history was that there was slight liquid on the LHS CD3217 & was not powering on at all. No 20v or any amps. I replaced with known good CD3217s & then got the power but its stuck on 5V .18amp. I did power measurements which are below:
                        PPBUS_G3H=12v
                        PP3V3_G3H=3.3v
                        PP3V3_UPC_X_LDO=3.3v
                        PPDCIN_G3H=5v ????
                        PP1V8_SLPS2R=1.8v
                        Do you think the other RHS CD3217 have to be replaced to as they might have gone defective????

                        MacBook pro A2251 Boot failure
                        by yehuday
                        Hi Everyone

                        I have a Macbook pro A2251 which fails to boot.
                        When i try to start it the fan momentarily spins full speed, then shuts off and it doesn't start.
                        This then repeats every few minutes. as if the board is stuck in a reboot loop

                        When i inspected the PCB i couldn't find any indication of liquid damage
                        I tried a few SMC reset sequence i found online but none helped (perhaps i did them wrong)

                        i am capable of opening the case and measuring voltage at test points. i also got the brd and layout files but i have no idea how to debug this...
