Lenovo Ideapad 3 17ADA05 keyboard problem

    Hello.
I have a Lenovo Ideapad 3 17ADA05 that is typing only "I" and "f7", on every key, with the original keyboard and a new keyboard. The motherboard is looking good, with no liquid damage or corrosion. Anyone can help me?

    Thank you!

Hi A1, sounds like a motherboard issue to be honest, Have you tried a USB keyboard ! also try cleaning the keyboard connector on the motherboard with a soft toothbrush and IPA alchhol atleast 90% IPA. Also if able remove the motherboard from the chassis and try again outside the chassis with everything disconnected except power cord and the small daughterboard that holds the power on microswitch. Try see if it will work as intended in bios, this would help diagnose if its hardware or software related.....Paul

Also check SIO/KB controller chip for lose contacts and dazmaged tracks.

Thank you very much for answering and sorry for the delay. The motherboard is very clean and I checked everything but didn't see anything wrong. I remembered that the bios was changed a few months back because of the black screen. Could the bios be the blame? It was working fine with changed bios, until now.

If its booting up them it wont be the bios. You didnt say if you tried a USB keyboard. Try opening the locking latch for the keyboard flat flex cable and cleaning with a soft tooth brush or similar and some IPA alchohol.
