Start with using IPA (alcohol) with cotton swap to clean up all the areas with the white puss / puke / corrosion on the PCB. Also clean up this area which appears to have a burnt capacitor. Then post a clear but close up picture of the logic board.

i never buy mainboard only unless i have all other component to fully test the board. as suggested clean with ipa, and check if that cap is shorted. if so remove it and measure again.

Wait, before you clean it do post nice clear and crisp photos (sorry to say, but your photos are blurry) so that we can help you identify the areas to fix. From the blurry photos you posted, I spotted a few spots that look suspicious. see attached. Only after having identified all areas both sides that might have been affected will you have any hope of getting this thing back to life. After having identified all areas (which we can help you with with some decent photos) then do what Mon2 suggests.

See the thing is when I received the motherboard it was somehow showing light. And I was really happy but then I saw the capacitor smoking and after few second. the motherboard turn off and I remove it that capacitor. but after that the motherboard never showed any light And then at my try at replacing that capacitor. I removed another one. then again Is started showing light? I don't know how then the third and the last capacitor on that the decoupling rail in that VRM started smoking but i removed the power asap so now it should show light but start the capacitor to smoke again idk why pls help, sharing pics in 5 min

all the latest pictures are after board got cleaned ? clean with ipa and if necessary apply flux and hot air, but u should spot if some component is still ok or need to be removed/replaced by measuring if it's shorted or not.

green spot just clean and check if shorted, while red spot clean and maybe rremove component to see if it's corroded also under it. more important on ic the mosfet.
before all always check for shorted marked component before take any action. if a capacitor looks bad but no short u can leave it that way. if an ic is corroded, u should check datasheet and see what each pin is for.

ID:	3243473 so I removed all 3 so should I power it on or not now.(Now I saw no short using multimeter) And one more thing the cpu vrm caps have a minimal 6 ohms resistance across are they fine because the reading comes after some time I think because they are large electrolytic caps

6 omh on cpu are fine.

I have a water damaged Toshiba TV that was hanging nicely on the wall then over the summer we had a new multi-million pound boiler system put in and right where this TV was hanging is a nice new pair of water pipes for the radiators...

The TV hasnt been used for a fair few months but it was needed again the other day and needless to say, it didn't power on or show any signs of life (no standby LED etc). After checking the fuse in the plug (and that the socket it was plugged in to worked) I decided to get up some step ladders to take a closer look and low and behold! It looks like...

Hello friends, so I have got a "water damaged" (or cola/beer/coffe .. something dark and sticky) G513I system - which has the board and schematics from this thread. After cleaning up all the visible sticky residue with water and detergent (thankfully mostly on the top/keyboard side), I have a partial success. IPA was of no use for cleaning this.

Using a bench power supply on the DCIN jack (as it seems that the PSU keying pin is not wired at all - series resistor R6003 is not populated), and using a shoring wire for the power button (either pin 5 on CN251 keyboard, or one...

                                          Hi,
I have water damaged Dell Latitude E5590 around charging ic.
Laptop was dead but i replaced some components like capacitors, resistors, resoldered charger(intersil 9538h) but traces under PQ904 dual mosfet(AOE6936) was burnt.
I rebuilt traces and both mosfets(PQ904 and PQ905) and after all this work laptop started turning on.
I dont have battery so i want to be sure if laptop behaviour is normal before buying.
On PL902 i have weird voltage around 5Volts, on battery socket voltage looks normal - 13.5v.
Is this voltage on pl902 normal?...

Like title says A2141 came in with Water Damage, customer desperately wants the data.

The actual water ingress doesn't appear too bad it sat for a day but was very dusty internally. I have no idea why L8504 was arced there is no apparent moisture there or around the LVDS cable; however, the LVDS to screen screw studs had popped off at some point and somebody tried securing it with kapton tape.

I had to create a micron wire pad jumper to reconnect the south side of the L8504 since the primary pad was blasted down to the vias.

That said after cleaning up the...

Hello, I have laptop Lenovo ideapad D330-10IGM which won't turn on. It was water damaged, but as I know it was clear water. I cleaned the board already.

Now, I noticed, that some component is heating up (see picture) there is a code GAASKJ on it. I don't really know what component is this and what is it's function.

It seems that charging works normally because current draw is about 1A and voltage is 19V.

Could you help me with it?

                                          Thank you

BTW there is a flux on component. No damage.
