    ASUS K51AC Problem

    Hello guys!
I have one ASUS K51AC makes a strange problem.

Suddenly he could not get into Windows 7.Ηang on boot screen..But it can sometimes get normal!

I changed the hard disk and Ram.I pulled out all of the unnecessary(CDROM,wi-fi card e.t.c.).I did a new installation of Windows but still do not enter!
I tried with ubuntu, works fine but can not reboot.I tried with Mini XP of Hirens Boot , works fine but can not reboot again.

Τhe BIOS is the latest version!

    What could be the problem?
    Thank you!

        Thanks for the reply..!!
And I misdoubt the Southbridge chipset but I'm not sure.
In your own case jtamad44 your presents similar problems to mine?

If I make a reflow at southbridge chipset there is danger of missing completely?

        Thank you again!

possibly overheating problem? Why don't you run a diagnostic software and monitor the temperature? It might give a clue as to what caused its abnormal behavior.

you got a ati chip and if you don`t install the proper driver it will overheat.
95% got this problem; try thermal sponge on memory and chipset then try thermal compound with cooper plates
Just cook it! It's already broken.

Thanks for your answer. I have installed GPU driver.I have tried with Windows 7 and Windows 8.They have the same problem.
I do not think is a matter of overheating, because in the ubuntu everything works flawlessly.Plays 1080p video on youtube without any problem.
Also in Windows ,thereby opening, they could not being restarted. The problem is hidden somewhere else

                      Have you tried a windows-based live-cd, like hirens´s?
If not, try it, and run Everest or Aida-64 and run stability test.
                      Post results.

DUDE!! how many drivers did you install? how many times you install(clean) windows.
you need to install windows for clean drivers and you need gpu sensor sft so you can see.
if ubuntu runs fine then its driver problem

A few months ago, I faced a similar problem with an ASUS X59.
Booted well with Hiren´s, (not in Ubuntu) and run Everest without any problem, but hanged on every shut down. ( restart OK)
Couldn't install xp or w-7, but w-2k3 was installed perfectly with default drivers.
Probably the problem was in south-bridge, but didn't accepted to repair it and I can't say for sure where the problem was.
