Hopefully someone will have working knowledge of the problem only other
thing I can think of is , is the cable the right way up in the connector.

first find the schematic, then measure usb ports + - and 2 data pin (middle two pins) but i think, in your case, +5 v is missing. check schematic find +5v trace the circuit find the failure and fix it or get +5v (stable)from nearest 5v switch to usb + pin. make sure if it is always on.

dont know if this is relevant guys as ive not noticed any other problems as of yet but as i was putting the laptop back together i noticed a burn mark on the ribbon of the touchpad , looked on the motherboard where the ribbon goes to on the opposite side and this is what i seen, looks like something is burnt out even through the plastic sheet that covers the motherboard.!

Yeh - that would do it!! could be a 5v voltage regulator. can you post a close up picture of it. Can you read any numbers on it. Tak a pic and read what you can then get some Isopropyl alcohol and try and clean it to see if it reveals any more.

Don't touch the dead chip, you might accidentally scrape off the part numbers (this burnt shit will come off very easily).

Yes, if it is the +5v switch (the burnt ic), desolder it and just apply +5v.

                                        by DynaxSC
                                        Hi,

I have the above mentioned bord after repair, which was related to a lot of missing smd devices on the back of the board.
There were almost 20 devices missing, caps, resistors and some diodes/mosfets.
The board is generally working now, all PCIe ports are working, Windows installs normally.

However I have a problem with SATA ports 4-7 (the board has 8 SATA ports) - disks are not beeing recognized by the BIOS neither by Windows (which is usually normal in case BIOS does not recognize them).
The SATA 4-7 driver network is quite simple chipset<->buffers/drivers<->SATA...

                                        Hello Guys,
I currently have a problem with an HP 355 G2 where the right USB Port works without a Problem but the left ones and the Ethernet port which is also in the region of the two USB ports are not working.
The HP Hardware Diagnostic tool also shows them as faulty. I used a USB tester and it also shows that I don't have 5V on the ports so I suspect a problem with an IC that controls the Voltages that goes to this ports.
Unfortunately I found no boardview or schematic for this device and I am a newbie in tech repairs so I don't know where to start. Other than this problem...

                                        Hi Guys,

Weird one here. I have a special GPU made by DFI (Model LS3440) from an Arcade gaming machine. The GPU uses the S3 440 GTX Chipset, and has dual DVI-I ports. For some reason, the analogue has stopped working on both outputs (DVI-I to VGA cable). DVI-D and digital outputs work fine, just the analogue that has stopped working.

Now, I could get around this by using Active cables to convert the signal over to Digital, but its got me wondering exactly what the issue could be. I have inspected the GPU and DVI ports under my microscope, but nothing stands out. Because...

                                        Hey guys,

Just purchased a CF-20 (mk1) supposedly was all working. However, the seller had done a fresh install of windows 10 but did not install any driver. Seller was adamant the trackpad/touchpad was working.

The touchpad/trackpad does not work. No led lights near the trackpad. The keyboard works, the USB 2 port on the base does not work, The USB 3 ports will recognise a USB 3 flashdrive but did not recognise a USB mouse. The ethernet port on the keyboard section works.

The USB 3 port on the actual tablet section works with no issues.
