Toshiba L645D-S4036 blinking status and battery lights

So, today I updated the bios in my laptop. Everything went well!

Now, I notice that the status light and battery light will randomly start blinking orange. Unplugging the power supply and plugging it in will make the lights return to normal. The AC power light is not affected (it stays white). What the heck is it doing this for??? The computer seems to run fine when this happens, other than drawing power from the battery. Is my computer complaining about the power supply being faulty???

Please, any ideas? I will check the voltage of the PSU now, and also, it says its plugged in and charging, but the battery is draining - I don't think its using power from the adapter.

Thank you for you help (if you do help :S)!

Drop the battery out and see if it runs at all off the AC pack.

I had a C655 doing the same and it turned out to be a dud MOSFET on the input stage for the AC side.

What does the blink code mean though?

I will add that for a while now, the power jack has had a bad connection in it and it needs to be wiggled a little to get the connection again. Could the computer be complaining about a low voltage coming from the PSU because the bad solder joint has a high resistance?

          Update.

It hasn't blinked for a few hours now. I don't know what the heck it is doing, I didn't do anything to it.

            Arg!

It didn't happen for a few days, but today it has started blinking again

              Hello?

I recently ran the battery down to about 15%. Now it says it is fully charged, but the charging light indicates that it is still charging. The battery is also hot as if it was being charged. Still occasionally have the blinking problem too

Please give me some advice, thanks!

Which mosfet? I will be opening up the computer in a few days to replace the power jack which has a bad connection.

It seems now that my battery is charging erratically, i have had it plugged in for an hour now and it has stayed at 49%

                      Update!

I took apart the laptop today. Dis-assembly was quite easy, I was shocked that there were no plastic snaps anywhere, only screws hold things in, which is nice. I found that the positive wire that was soldered to the power jack had become brittle and broken; the jack itself was OK. Re-soldered and reinforced it, and after re-assembly I was happy to be back in business with a working computer and not so touchy power jack

Time will tell if I will get that flashing lights thing again though.

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
                        by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

Vostro 3400 (LA-K033P) won't charge battery, everything else ok
                        by techfreak9356
I bought a Vostro 3400 motherboard (LA-K033P) to upgrade over my damaged Inspiron 5593 (LA-J091P) board. Everything else is ok except for the battery. This battery I am using now is already a replacement one since I disposed of the bloated original one. Back in the Inspiron 5593 motherboard, the battery charges fine and is identified just fine. However, with the upgraded motherboard, suddenly the replacement battery is labeled as "Not a dell battery". When I borrow a similar battery from my colleague (which did not have replacements yet), it is identified and charges just fine.

Hi, so the old battery was getting error stated it's capacity is starting too get low and should be replaced, so the customer bought a new one and replaced it, but the new battery was also getting this notice that it's capacity is getting low and should be replaced, so i took the laptop for testing and the battery is charging at the terminal at 8.03V , the voltage of the battery is 7.7V, and drawing around 600mA when charger is put and the laptop is off...so that should be ok... but the bios system test doesn't recognize the battery and can't do the battery test and so is the hp battery manager,...

iPad Air A1475 Boot loops after replacing battery
                        by trepachka
This iPad was working fine except the battery was not holding charge for more than 40 minutes. I replaced it with a new battery. I haven't glued the battery yet, just inserted it into the slot and held it with battery screw.

The iPad was powered on with the new battery and I am getting white screen with Apple logo for about 10 seconds, then the screen turns dark. It then cycles like this forever.

I know the battery is working because the iPad continues to boot loop without the charger until it depletes to 0% and the message displays I need to plug in the charger.
