Is possible to replace G86-730-A2 with G86-740-A2 nvidia chip, on dv9000 motherboard ?

Is any chance to work normal with G86-740-A2 ?

I would try it, unless you can get an original copy to be safe.

but if it works u learn something new, if it doesn't, just take it off

I try, no success, it power up, lights come up, fan work, all chips are heated around 50-60 °C but still no picture. So I do not know if this replace work or not

I'm not familiar with nVidia's part numbering but if those are core revision levels then it most likely won't work. A quick Googling shows it to be related to the memory configuration.

You could try asking nVidia's tech support... not the regular customer service but the real tech support side. It's worth a try.

G86-740-A2 is not the replacement for G86-730-A2. But you can do the opposite. And if you look at that table carefully, it says so.

Desktop Nvidia VGAs (small form ) , are the best way to acquire difficult chipsets like the G86-613-A2 , as it use the same ones and can save a Laptop the easy way ..
