Got this as a used laptop and the fan is making a decent amount of noise, i have changed the thermal compound twice using high quality stuff
I have a 2nd NX500 but it has a power issue, when it was working though it was silent, no temp issues
I am using a temp monitor now and the 4 cores are between 70 and mid 80s when i play Xcom 2 at minimal settings on 1080p
Using just google chrome with about 6 active tabs and 40 that are in a paused state using a hibernation extension i am getting temps of around 60

Re: Asus NX500 no longer charges
Just did that, laptop that doesnt charge still wont charge or work if battery is dead
Is there some area i should start testing with multimeter?...

Asus NX500 no longer charges
Last time i used it, i had it plugged to power and it would not charge and eventually, the battery died
The charger is fine, i have a 2nd NX500 because their displays are QLED and amazing lol so both chargers were tested on the working unit
I tested the port and i am getting voltage, that is pretty much the extent of my troubleshooting knowledge
Anything i should check?

Re: LG OLED C8 65in has no power, makes click noise
Now that its dark i can do some more testing, so with either of the connectors disconnected, the tv will not show lines or any snow
With everything connected, sometimes the tv will show lines, then snow, but most of the time it just shows lines, sometimes the lines are different and sometimes they move
With the p251 cable disconnected i tested the pins and they all seem to give correct voltages, i then tested 201 with the cable connected and got the correct voltages
With...

Re: LG OLED C8 65in has no power, makes click noise
Oh k i will leave it disconnected, when i had it connected i plugged the power cable and the set did the click on and off, the optical port came on and then off, same with using the power button
When i disconnected the cable you mentioned, the optical led remained lit as long as the tv was plugged, and the power button had no effect
The service manual you found is for my correct model, i will take a look at it and will get the photos...

Re: LG OLED C8 65in has no power, makes click noise
I think when the remote stopped working a few mth ago, that is when the led indicator stopped working as well, but i cant be entirely sure
I did the test you mentioned, when i press the power button on the tv, it clicks as if turning on and then later another click as if turning off with no led or display...

LG OLED C8 65in has no power, makes click noise
This TV had a problem where no remotes would work, tried several that were confirmed working, so we were able to control it using the android phone app, just recently when we turned the tv off, some lighting at the very bottom of the tv happened, probably a few mm worth of light was flashing from the screen, despite the TV being off
I unplugged it and left it that way overnight, i tried the TV again and it was working with netflix, the light flashing started again and then the tv just shut off
Since the remote isnt working i am using the button on the tv and when...

Converting 12v to 24v device to work on car battery
I have a small device that operates at about 72 watts with a 24v power supply, i want to be able to use the device on a car battery but since it will be at half voltage i thought about using something similar to this

Would i need anything else and most importantly would this be a safe...

US 220v dual fuse holders?
Since US uses 2 pos lines and a neutral i was wondering where i could find a fuse holder that holds 2 so i can fuse each line. Because if a single line is fused and it breaks the device will still have 110v instead of 220v.

JBC Soldering station no power after 220v
Accidentally plugged it into a 220v transformer in the USA and the fuse blew, i replaced it with the 2 amp fuse and didnt get any power to it
Did it still damage something inside even with the blown fuse?

Re: Hooked up 12v fan to rework station causes power reset
That was my thought and your right about the PSU rating, it was just weird that it would reset the PIDs as well since they are directly 220v and not going through the PSU
All i had was a 36 ohm resistor so i tried that which worked and also reduce the speed obviously, so yep the PSU was underpowered
Thanks, case closed lol

Hooked up 12v fan to rework station causes power reset
I have an IR6000 and i installed a 12v fan to it, it already has a 12v fan for the top heater so i simply cut the 2 wires and bridged them for the new fan to use for the bottom heater with the existing switch
The fan works just fine, however sometimes when i flip the switch the machine resets ie; it turns on and then off
If i leave the switch flipped on and turn the machine on the machine kind of pulses on and off until i turn the flip the fan switch off
Sometimes turning the 12v led off and back on makes it work, the 12v led is not on the same switch...

Re: Simple circuit wiring, proper method?
Now that i look it over again i realize devices will only pull the amperage they need, i just need to figure out why a fan blew

Re: Simple circuit wiring, proper method?
Both are rated high enough, im just wondering if the wiring should be done differently

Simple circuit wiring, proper method?
So i have a 220v power supply that is powering several devices
From the 12v + line i have a wire going to a spade connector, out of that butt connector is another wire that goes to an led that draws .9 amp
The female spade connector is connected to the fan which has a male spade connector that draws .6 amps
Is that safe, or will the led pull .9 amps. through the wire which will go to the .6 amp fan and overload it?
The amperages are used for informational purposes and not the exact amperages FYI
I also have a 12v...

Re: Choosing Good BGA Machine. Please Help!!
It all depends on the amount of and type of repairs you are doing
