    Need pinout for HP DV6500 battery.

    Looking for a way to charge a battery outside of DV6605us laptop. I know external charges are available, but I have some borked HP chargers and would like to pinout to it. HP model number of battery is HSTNN-DB42. Power board is broken and would like to power up to see if it even posts. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    It isn't possible to charge it outside the laptop without a smart charger. The charger needs to communicate with the battery, otherwise the battery will not accept current. It's worth giving DIY a shot only if you're familiar with programming microcontrollers, otherwise just buy a charger.

      Thanks for the response, I kinda figured there would be something like that. Well I disassembled another HP (bad mobo but same charge pins, different battery config)but still charged. Rigged it all up, let it charge over night and worked like a champ
