I have a Satellite L300-1AS, running Vista. The computer has recently started to show that it is "plugged in, charging", but it does not in fact charge. Computer boots normally using mains power, however if mains power disconnected then the laptop dies (no charge in the battery).
I thought it might have been the power adapter, but I also have an older toshiba which has the exact same power adapter, I tried it and it works on both machines (and both adapters charge the old laptop)
I then thought it might be the battery and bought a new battery (the computer is under warranty, but I needed it quick). The new battery will not charge, but shows 6% charge.
I then thought that it might be corruption in Vista, so have returned the computer to its factory settings, by re-installing the software. This still has not solved the problem.
Does anyone know something about this ?
