    A1990 820-01814 5v 0.2-0.3a

Hello, got this a1990 for repair.
Initialy thought some cd3215 is dead but no, i dont have cycleing on any ports and on all of the the readings are the same. I have all LDO voltages exept BMC. PPDCIN_G3H is ok. HvGate1 is 7.6v and gate2 is 11v. PP20V_USBC_XB_VBUS Is 5v. PP3V3_G3H is 0v , CHGR_VDDA is 5v , TP_CHGR_EN_VR1 is 5v.
I'm ir right that maybe U7000 is dead? kinda lost and dont know where to look next, maybe some one has an advice?

What is the voltage to ground of PPBUS_G3H @ F7000 or F7001 ?

Check both sides of these fuses.

PPBUS_G3H @ F7000 or F7001 Is 0v at bouth sides. Tested if the the fuse is good, and it is but i think i have a dead on short here because at resistance mode i have 5 ohm’s and at diode mode .04v

        Re: A1990 820-01814 5v 0.2-0.3a

Indeed. With low air pressure + flux, carefully remove F7000 and F7001 off the board.

Then check the resistance to ground from the producer side (aka ISL9240 side) and the consumer side (downstream of the fuses).

        Post each measurement.

          So today I removed the F7000 and F7001, at PPVBAT_G3H_CHGR_REG side I have 0.8kOhm and at PPBUS_G3H side I have 4.7ohm.
If I understand correctly at this point I should inject voltage into it and see what becomes hot?

Correct. Keep the injection voltage @ 1 volt or less. Current as high as available on your DC power supply. No other power source.

Most likely you will find a shorted tantalum capacitor on the board that will crack under this pressure. Remove that capacitor and test again for the resistance to ground. If the resistance returns to a high level, solder back the fuses and check again.

Before soldering the fuses, confirm that the voltage from the ISL regulator is in the normal range for PPBUS_G3H = ~12 volts.

Respectively, the shorted cap is causing a high current draw and the ISL knows this via the current sense resistor so it is powering down this critical power rail.

Common issue on this model, check Paul’s clip first.

Hi, I found short on one of 6 black nand (total 1TB).
i removed all 6 nand ( voltages all ok) and now i want to program with JC P15 but for A1990 2019 there is only 512GB configuration.
I try A2141 1TB configurazion with TSB4228 but the position on pcb is different ( U9300 and U9400 is no stuff on A1990 but present on A2141 and U8800 and U8900 is no stuff on A2141 but present on A1990 )
macbook with A2141 configuration run on recovery but don't complete it.
                anyone can help me?

A1990 820-01814-A dead not charging - need help with diagnostics.
                by master_haze86
                Good day everyone,

Let me preface this with letting you know that I have a smalltime computer repair shop but do not have a lot of experience when it comes to board diagnostics. I am good at soldering etc but finding the issue if there isn't an obvious burnt component is not my strong suit.

The other day I got a customer come in with a macbook A1990 (motherboard 820-01814-A) that would not turn on and had previously been getting the warning message that the battery needed servicing. (Most folks seem to ignore that message, just like the check engine light in vehicles.)...

                by Strolch
Hello, can anyone tell me where I can get this 26-pin FPC connector? What is the connector for?So that one's also for the Touch Bar. I thought only the FPC at the top was for the Touch Bar. But where can I get it? I can't find the connector online. I only found the 22nd pin. Thank you....

                Macbook Pro a1990 activation locked
                by falcontech
                Hi,
I received a 2018 MacBook Pro A1990, and the motherboard was replaced, presumably purchased on AliExpress. The motherboard's activation is blocked because the previous owner didn't delete it. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? I called Apple, and as expected, they asked me to activate the process with proof of purchase for the original computer, which I find very difficult, so the proof of purchase from AliExpress will be of little use. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Two Apple A1990 EMC3215 start to 5W and power off, T2 ic is heating
                by ktmmotocross
                Hello.
Have this two Apple A1990 EMC3215 that starting to 5W and power off. Byt Thermocam i see that T2 ic is heating little too much right when consumption start to raise.
I dont find any short in coils for it and it looks like there are voltages

Any hint or bad T2 is common on this boards?
