I've made a temporary patch for this as I've got to release 2.0.4. I'd still be happy to take the firmware for debugging when if you can. The application will now accept Apple Silicon SoC firmware; however for now you cannot do much with it.Comment

This beautiful tool is observed that it can help us remove the EFI password from the system to perform a new installation. Is this section of the EFI password removal tried without the computer dying (so it won't boot), and is it possible to install a new system?Comment

Sorry, I don't quite understand the question amigo. Please try and be more specific.Comment

Hi,
I've bought a MacMini 2018 listed on eBay for parts.
Blinking STOP sign upon startup.
Read the SocROM with XGecu T48 but Mac Efi Toolkit is not able to find Serial Number.
Searching on EveryMac for ORDER NQ2Y2LL/A gave no result.
Any suggestions to find serial number?
No key combination uppon startup gives any result, only was possible to start in DFU mode and revive/restore.
Then machine reboots and goes to blinking STOP.
ThanksComment

Fact the system boots makes it highly unlikely to be anything related to the T2 subsystem. Also, a missing serial number in the SoC ROM isn't unusual. Not every SCfg store contains the system serial.
Via email you told me you restored it in DFU mode, and it has gone back to a no entry symbol, so I'd blame something on the Intel side. Is the board number 820-00939? Have you tried different memory?Comment

Board number is 639-06007
Measured power rails to PCH and so far 1V, 1V8 and 3V3 seems to be Ok.
If there were a way to sniff the boot messages by usb or other means would be very useful.
I suspect either PCH is malfunction (as thermal images suggest) or some peripheral connected to it.
I'm using a memory stick which is working well in another mac mini 2018.
I'll try check power rails of Thunderbolt Controllers tomorrow and PCH clock signals.
Do you have a board layout of mac mini 2028 with traces and pads labeling similar to ZXW type?
I've got one, pdf, just board layout and components name and position, but no traces/net.Comment

Board numbers start with "820-", your board is an 820-00939. Check post attachments for BV and schematic (you'll need FlexBV to view). The PCH corner hotspot is a little suspicious I must admit, but I've never observed the thermal behaviour of another one.
If you cannot solve this one, I'd be interested in purchasing it. Could you upload the thermal images here?Attached FilesComment

Many thanks for the 820-00939 board layout.

Agree ...
Here goes the thermal videos:

Yes, please find them attached. One is from another MacMini8,1 which runs well.

Let's be positive because I need machine to work. 🙂Comment

I've issued a hotfix for Mac EFI Toolkit that disables multiple firmware windows being open concurrently. A permanent fix is being developed.

Is there a way to change the CPU multiplier through editing the laptop's BIOS. I have a Latitude 7300 using Intel core I7-8665U CPU which has default multiplier settings between x4.0-x48.0. The problem with the device is that as soon as Windows boots up, the processor temperature is always high (usually in the range of 97-100 degrees Celsius), the multiplier is in the range of x46.0 - x48.0 even though no applications enabled. On a desktop we can change many things related to core voltage, multiplier or base frequency. but on laptop models using U suffix processors this is not available. I would...

by SMDFleaCopying DMI information from an old bios to a new one is difficult for some members, often they have no experience with a hex editor,or some that have tried find it too hard. There is an option to make things easier for those members so that they don`t need to post their own bios backup for the DMI copying.
Experienced bios modding members can help by posting in other threads the DMI offsets, macro script generated by the software and a download link to the software at softpedia mentioned in this guide,or post your macros in the comments here with a link to the bios request thread ....-
