    820-01041 MacBookPro 15” 2018 - not turning on,not charging

Hello, can you assist in identifying the issue and providing repair steps? authorised by apple service centres in my country don’t have best reputation and I need opinion from someone who faced something like this.

Water entered the connection between the screen and keyboard of my MacBook Pro. The power button has stopped functioning. I had to use the charger to turn on the MacBook, but now it’s not working anymore. MacBookPro doesn’t charge and I can’t turn it on.

Additionally, i saw in the battery settings, a message "service required" .

Hi and welcome to this forum. We had an initial chat at macrumors.

Do you have access to tools for the MacBook in your region? Like screwdriver sets, multimeter, etc? If not, perhaps Amazon delivers to your area?

Yes,I could buy it here, but I'm not a tech person,so I might break my Mac totally.

I think your options are limited. With liquid damage, there is always the risk that the CPU has been damaged due to the liquid travelling across higher than normal power rails. At the very least, the case needs to be removed -> logic board inspected after the battery is removed so there is no further damage. Then often, cotton swap / Q-tip with alcohol is used to clean up where the liquid can be seen. Then test again. The additional tools are required to study the power rails, etc. which may lead to soldering required to fix the fault(s). If you have a local friendly tech, perhaps consider to lean on them for help.

You must have a local cell phone tech that will be comfortable with such rework? Perhaps at a local mall? Do check around if they are ok with logic board repairs.

Thank you for such detailed instructions.
All Apple services I found in my location don't do such a complicated work as you described. They just replace everything that might cause problems : keyboard, battery.

I think your better options are to contact local cell phone repair shops. I recall on my assorted travels that some of the smallest shops in malls are doing amazing work at the component level. Was very impressed. Do give this a try. Many are comfortable with other repairs like yours. Ask them if they have macbook tools (torx, etc.) and they should to at least review the logic board with the liquid spill.

              by sikocan
              MODEL: MacBook Air 2018 A1932 820-01521

              Problem: 5.12V / 0.60Amps

History: Unknown but I can see slight liquid spill on IC U8201/74aup1t97gm

Things tried: I've cleaned the liquid area, removed the IC U8201/check pads, good/ chip looks good, put back. Replaced CD3215C x 2 times, so 4 new chips just in case. I've attached photo readings of V/resistance and signals as per logi wiki website. Please advise what I can check next. Schematics available upon request....

MacBook Pro 2018 with Activation Lock

              Hi everyone!

I have a 2018 MacBook Pro (with Sequoia OS) that I've been using for years with no problem. I recently received an M2 MacBook Pro so I'm mostly using it and not the 2018 one, but since a friend of mine needs a computer, I thought I could restore my 2018 and give it brand-new-like to my friend.

I tried using the built-in tool to restore the MacBook (Settings > General > Transfer or restore > Delete) but it got stuck when trying to remove the Find Device configuration (it asked me for the password for my old Apple ID -now I use the same account but...

MacBook Air 2018 not turning one
              by Win Me
Hello, so I get on e-Bay an higly water damaged mother board, to replace another one with a dead T2. So I managed to fix the water damged one, after a day of schematic readings and components replacing. But I made a BIG mistake. The computer turned on, with backlight and everything, Apple logo showing but the power button wasn't working, so I unpluged the cable for audio jack and pwrbttn and pluged it in back.... And now it doesn't boot anymore, staying at 20V around 0.039-0.041 Amps. In the T2 power boot sequence the last line to get power is PP2v7_NAND, so the NAND is corectly powers on. But...

Satellite PRO A50-A Not turning on after turning off Windows
              by khelane
              Hello
              A device with specifications
Toshiba Satellite PRO A50-A is here to replace the hard drive.
The hard drive has been replaced and there is no problem, but there is another problem, but the customer does not care to fix the problem.
The device enters Windows without any problem and works, even I put pressure on the CPU and graphics, but when I turn off the system through Windows, if I want to turn it on again, the system switches, but it turns off quickly within a second, and this routine continues. It is turning on and off within a second and soon it turns off....
