How to find the original owner of a an icloud locked Mac
Hello, I have a MacBook Air 2018 that I bought broken, managed to fix it but there is an icloud account on it. Tried to message the eBay seller, he told me that he doesn't know the password of the icloud because it is not his computer and he boughts this computer from an auction with multiple other computer. So my question is, can I maybe contact the original owner of the Mac to request him to remove his account! Because the email adress is hidden on the activation locked page.

M1 MacBook computer doesn't rcognise any USB devices
Hello, I have this weird issue with an M1 MacBook Pro motherboard number 820-02020 when I plug an USB key or a dongle for external screen, etc it doesn't do anything. I wanted to reset it but it doesn't see any USB Monterrey or Big Sur install key. Even in DFU mode the other computer with Apple configurator doesn't see it. And this apply on both USB-C ports. But the charger works normally. Any ideas?

Re: M1 MacBook water damaged no display
So 1st, with screen cable removed 1V3 instead of 1V2 on PP3v3_SW_LCD
2nd 0V on both lines with screen cable pluged in (but it is a no stuff resistance)
3rd UD920 is also no stuff
4th EDP_panel_discharge with screen pluged in 0V
And not warm but there were liquid in this area. In fact the Computer had a workin screen and backlight but was not charging. I fixed the battery issue and just reflowed the UP701 area cause it was bad looking. I removed CP600 cause it was really bad...

M1 MacBook water damaged no display
Hi, I get a M1 Macbook pro 820-02020 for repair today, and it is the first time I had a M1 to repair. So maybe if anyone already had this issue, I do not entirely have my 3v3_SW_LCD Voltage, it is at around 1V. I have EDP_PANEL_PWR_EN, it is 1V8.
And I am stuck here but before doing anything prefer to maybe have a M1 expert suggestion!

Re: MacBook Air 2018, no power at all after backlight repair
So, for anyone having the same issue, I fixed mine. My issue was weird because when I was reseting the SMC my G3S rails came back but not any S5 rails were working and tthe SMC reset worked ONLY with a battery pluged in, with no battery the reset didn't do anything! I replaced R5240, the resistor was bad and Q6950, TADA the Mac works again.

MacBook Air 2018, no power at all after backlight repair
Hi, so I get a board 820-01521-02 today and I am really annoyed because it cames for a no backlight and full fan speed issues. So I solved the full fan speed issue by replacing resistors around a sensor chip. But then I get to solve the backlight issue, I saw 2 resistors (R8452 and R8453), they were blown, I replaced them. I powered up the machine (in the Mac case, with the battery pluged in and the screen pluged in) the amp meter get to around 20V 0,250amp, like a normal boot, then stops, no fan no screen, no battery charging and get to 20V 0,000amp, during boot.
And now after testing...Last edited by Win Me; 03-22-2022, 03:32 PM.

MacBook A2159 820-01598-Awithout any S5 rails
Hello, I get a MacBook A2159 to repair, but unfortunately I am stuck at this point: I have the S5 enables but not any S5 Rails... They are not shorted. In Apple Configurator 2 I have an error (the Mac always shows in recovery mode). In DFU mode I get pretty much the same error. Most likely saying to check the USB connection or that the system gave a bad feedback.

MacBook Air 2018 not turning one
Hello, so I get on e-Bay an higly water damaged mother board, to replace another one with a dead T2. So I managed to fix the water damged one, after a day of schematic readings and components replacing. But I made a BIG mistake. The computer turned on, with backlight and everything, Apple logo showing but the power button wasn't working, so I unpluged the cable for audio jack and pwrbttn and pluged it in back.... And now it doesn't boot anymore, staying at 20V around 0.039-0.041 Amps. In the T2 power boot sequence the last line to get power is PP2v7_NAND, so the NAND is corectly powers on. But...

Re: A1708 820-00840-A 5V 80-100mA
Yes, now 99% bad CD3215. But still could be the thunderbolt ROM, but it is pretty rare for it to fail when no corosion.

Re: A1708 820-00840-A 5V 80-100mA
If you remove them you will get nothing, maybe try to remove R7020 and D6905 first and see if it is still cycling. If still most likely the CD3215, if not the probably an ISL related issue
