    iPad 7 A2197 dead

So I have here this board which is dead. Current without battery is about 25mA with battery 470mA. I checked all voltages, missing this one:

    PPVDD_GPU
    PPVDD_GPU_SRAM
    PP1V8_TOUCH_EXT_SW
    PP3V0_ALS
    PP3V3_ACC
    PP1V25_REAR_CAM

I don't know if these voltages are coming up, when iPad is booting. I have changed the PMIC without any result.

The PPVDD_GPU line have 8,2 ohms and in diode mode it is short. I have injected 0,8v in this line, only the A10 chip is getting slightly warm.

    Any ideas?

Have somebody managed to solve that?

      Thank you.

I tried searching the forum for whether this has been uploaded already, but couldn't find them (as a collection).
Here's a dump of a bunch of iPads, I've split into 2 archives to get under file limit

iPad A2197 no power, A10 and other IC become warm, only 0.5A charge
        by proxneo
        Dear reader

TL;DR: iPad not turning on, A10 and power IC become (very) warm when attempted to turn on but this power-on cycle has a 'cooldown' period wherein powering on doesn't work, does not take more than 0.5A charge.

I am working on an iPad 7th generation 2197 from >2019 with no / limited charging and no boot issues. It is a refurbished purchase made in 2021. It appears the 'refurbish' company has either done prior motherboard work (all protective component shield layers are gone) or is one of the many trash refurbish companies (little screen adhesive left, component...

        A2197 / Ipad 7th Gen / 2019 - No Power / Low Current Draw
        by willis6732
        Hello,

Ive been working on this ipad for a little while now. CPU reballing is a common issue needed on this model.

I wanted to try and verify there is not a PMIC Problem before reballing the CPU.

Powering 4.2V at the battery gives a 0-1ma Draw
Pressing the power button it jumps to 18+ma and settle at 15ma

Ive attached my Readings for many of the power rails.
THis is how the columns are layed out:
Ohms/ Diode / Voltage After power button Press / Injecting Voltage Reading

        iPad 7 A2197 - no power
        by martyjelen
Hello, I have iPad that won't turn on. With connected battery there is about 450mA constant current draw. I dissasembly PCB, when I connect it without battery, there is about 20mA current draw.

No signs of liquid damage etc.

        What should I check, please?

        Thanks for your help.
