Issues after the battery change?
Check the ESD diode linked to the smbus lines (SCL and SDA) on the battery connector.
Carefully measure the voltage to ground of each pin of the battery connector. Post the pin # and each voltage.
If either the SCL or SDA pins are low, the smbus interconnect is not working due to a damaged esd tvs diode from an ESD surge event. Then the ESD diode has to be removed / replaced. -

The battery is dead?

R5221 resistor shows 1 input 1.8v 2 no 1.7v. with the battery installed. the battery is charging, the device turns on, but still the keyboard + touchbar + speaker is not active. There is sound in the headphone output. these 3 hardware is not working .PPVBAT_G3H_CONN voltage 12v available.Last edited by kartal; 04-26-2023, 07:24 AM.Comment

Re: 820-01700-A macbook pro
Did you remove the board and trackpad before replacing the battery? Is the battery a genuine Apple battery or generic/third-party? Did you damage the battery data cable?
This sounds like physical damage to the board. Inspect closely. Make sure cables are not cracked/damaged.Comment

battery is not original apple but same quality battery. The device worked flawlessly for 1 day after the battery was changed. The next day, when they turned on the device, the keyboard + touchbar + speaker sound did not work. The device is charging, it works with both the adapter and the battery, but these 3 hardware do not have voltages, I can't see any problem, I can't see any physical problem. There is no broken piece on the motherboard. I tried with another battery, same result. This is the first time I have encountered such an error.Comment

by modtoolHi to all,
the owner of this macbook brought it to me after a fall, that hit the upper right corner of the top case.
Luckily enough, the screen and all other parts of the machine haven't been damaged, only the touch bar wasn't lighting up anymore, and the macbook began to behave strangely, because it seems to start and work fine but suddendly it shutsdown (and at the same time the fans make a high rotation for half a second, as if an animal was annoyed by something...) at random times, sometimes after 2 minutes, sometimes after 5 minutes, but never over 10 minutes, then restarts... -
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!!
what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!
i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...-

by Comp_ProHello all,
I have a weird issue to solve here. This macbook air came in showing a black screen even though the backlight was lit. The display was not the issue as I tried another known good display. Upon trying to restart it, sometimes it boots up but freezes at the login page. More commonly however, the macbook will give the chime sound but then get stuck repeating the sound. The first chime sound is normal but the subsequent chimes sounds are crackly. Voltages seem normal, no liquid damage. I did find a blotch of something near one of the crystals on the other side of the CPU... -
by tommy97Hi,
I'm having an issue with an A1707 MacBook Pro—there's no audio output. Initially, the MacBook came in with a no-power problem, and I found a faulty U6400, which I've now replaced. The laptop now powers on, but there's still no sound.
I've also replaced U6300, but the problem persists.
Here are the current voltage readings:- PPV18_S0: 1.8V
- R6402: 1V
- R6405: 1V
- R6403: 1V
- AUD_SPKRAMP_RESET_L: 1.3V
- PPBUS: 12.6V
