Re: MSI GE62 6QF MS-16J41 not reacting to power button
As long as EC_PCH_PWROK is not 3.3V, PCH is simply not going to respond. You need to dig a bit since schematic is available and now you atleast have an rough idea why mb is not turning on. Do check all powergood signals also.Comment

Re: MSI GE62 6QF MS-16J41 not reacting to power button
EC_PCH_PWROK is a power good signal for S0 state so not of concern yet.OpenBoardView — https://github.com/OpenBoardView/OpenBoardViewComment

Re: MSI GE62 6QF MS-16J41 not reacting to power button
More measurements:
- EC_CLKRUN# floats and becomes 0V after power button pressed.
- KBRST# 0v 20ohms to ground and not changing if I press Power button.
- PR193 is missing from the board and one side is 1.008V after power pressed, but the other side is 0vLast edited by questore; 05-21-2023, 04:26 PM.Comment

Can this guy be the problem?Comment

AS per diagram, it should be there. Try putting one with rated value.Comment

Re: MSI GE62 6QF MS-16J41 not reacting to power button
Laptop still not powering on.
Also checked that Y5 crystal has 0,280V-0,350V on both side and oscillating slowly, but not changing when power button pressed.
Now what? Should I replace the 32Khz crystal?Last edited by questore; 06-07-2023, 10:09 AM.Comment

Re: MSI GE62 6QF MS-16J41 not reacting to power button
Introduced R193 and checked, now i have 1V on the other side when power button pressed.

Still no crystal 32Khz present on crystal. The voltage on the crystal fluctuates slowly up and down.
Accoding to this article everything is good for S5 to come up except the 32Khz oscillation.
http://kesherigroup.blogspot.com/p/g...y-diagram.html
1. RTC have to be oscillating(32.768KHz).
2. RTCRST# have to be high.
3. RSMRST# have to be inactive (high).
4. PWRBTN# have a trigger.
5. LOW_BAT# have to be inactive (high).Last edited by questore; 06-09-2023, 04:23 AM.Comment

Re: MSI GE62 6QF MS-16J41 not reacting to power button
Removed R205 because someone introduced it and it is not supposted to be here.
Replaced 32Khz crystal but now no 0.4v present on the crystal legs only rapid swithing.
SCI#/GPIO0E is switching constantly after plugged in.
Also rechecked and PCH top capacitors have either 1v or 3.3v on all places
Now where to go?Comment

Re: MSI GE62 6QF MS-16J41 not reacting to power button
Removed the crystal.
RTCX1JNC is about 0.2v
RTCX2JNC is rapidly switching
Introduced a new crystal and replaced the 2 capacitors next to it just to be sure.
Now RTCX1JNC is rapidly switching as vell.
Still no 32Khz on any leg.
WHAT TO DO?Last edited by questore; 06-21-2023, 01:22 PM.Comment

Re: MSI GE62 6QF MS-16J41 not reacting to power button
As I have read more about intel 100 series chipset datasheet (Page 62)
The RTCX1 voltages are works as below table:
Associated Signals: RTCX1#
Input VIH (Input High Voltage) 0.8V-1.2 V
VIL (Input Low Voltage) -0.5V- 0.1 V
This tells me that the voltage in RTCX1 should be between 0,8V-1.2V.
Since everything else seems normal, maybe i will introduce 1V from a soldering point that is next to it.
Is this a good idea?Comment

Hope someone can give me some suggestions on this because i'm at my wits end with it...
I have an Envy 13-BA1565na here with an Intel Core i7 i7-1165G7 CPU (board is a LA-J475P Rev 1.0) which has an intermittent power button issue. The power button is integrated into the keyboard, and I have ruled out the keyboard, BIOS and battery as being the issue.
Basically, on mains power, the power button works fairly well. The first time you come to it after leving it sitting (either on charge or not on charge), it might take 2 or 3 presses of the button, but then the laptop boots...07-12-2024, 03:03 AM -
Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by questoreHi Everyone,
I have a la-h482p rev 1.0 on my desk that is not reacting to power button.
+ Every ALW a LO are present when battery is plugged (11.7V)
+ Charger shows charging led orange when charging and white LED when done charging.
+ EC_ON also high 3.1V
+ power button has 3v and goes down to 0 when pressed.
+ BIOS does not have 3v on the 8th pin (+3V_SPI never rises only 0.07milivolt risen after battery plugged)
+ PCH hase 1.5V on one capacitor on top nothing on the others
+ nothing gets hot only SIO and 3V/5V regulators are 22 C

by TimeRabbit07Hi all!
I've got an Asus FX517ZC on the bench at the moment and I just can't figure out what's going on with it.
Here are its various numbers and identifiers:
Model short: FX517Z
Model long: FX517ZC-HN114W
SN: NANRCX01S57842E
CN: 3SDB 12M
MFD: 2022-10
Motherboard model: DA0NJLMBAE0 REV E
Symptoms:
The laptop's charge light comes on, but when the power on button is pressed nothing happens. No fan spin, no caps lock, no screen or keyboard backlight, nothing.

by reessiHello,
With the power button connected it either boot loops with the apple logo or no display but the charging meter shows it looping on charging every few seconds.
No corrosion any where!
Tried a replacement power button off ebay and the same.
Very occasionally it will work with the power button connected!
Same results with or without the battery.
Can it be a fault with the Audio board or the mainboard?
The touch Id assembly connects through the Audio board first then to the Mainboard.
