macbook A1708 - BMU replacement

Hello,
just a quick sanity check question before I blow myself up.

Is it ok to transplant a working BMU from a dead A1708 battery to a working battery with a dead (not recognized) BMU? Assuming I will be very careful not to short anything out while doing it.

I am just worried the BMU retains some battery specific data that will either kill the new battery or make it behave like an old one (the amount of charging cycles, etc.).

Highly recommend to seek out another known good battery. Amazon ?

Ok, got it. I had a bad feeling about wasting 3 good cells, but a house fire is probably not worth it.
