    Macbook A1466 No power

    Hi guys, I have this A1466 macbook that doesn't start, the fan doesn't turn and it doesn't absorb anything, or rather... it absorbs 0.03A then every 5/6 seconds it absorbs about 130mA and then 0.. the 5V generates it only for an instant .
    If I connect the power supply from bango the magsafe comes on with orange color (without battery connected),
    PP3V42_G3H = 3v42
    PM_BATLOW_L =3.31V
    PPBUS_G3H = 8.59V
    PM_SLP_S5_L = 0V and increases every 4/5Sec but only for an instant

    I also tried to change the SMC but the result is the same... do you have any ideas?

    On the coil that generates the 5v spike, measure the resistance to ground (with no power on the logic board).

    There may be a shorted cap on that rail.

        Remove all power -> meter in resistance mode -> measure the resistance to ground of

        PPBUS_G3H

            board code 820-00165 ?
            volt on L7560

            volt on L7430.... spie to 5 volt once ? twice? never ?

            how many omh on R7320 (black on ground red on R7320 200 omh scale.

            good cpu is around 026. lower then 016 can become dead cpu shortly.

                Re: Macbook A1466 No power

                L7430 how many times spike ? 1, 2 or more then 2 ?
                more then 2 check u6100 bios volts.

                cpu heated up with hot air ? if so bad action. (never heat cpu or smc)
                edit: if spike 1-2 times report volt of u8180

                edit2: if 2017 cpu can get low as 15.6 omh.

                  on L7430 more than 2 times
                  on u6100 on pin 8 i have 3,3V

                  I have never warmed up the CPU, I have changed the SMC with a new one but nothing has changed
                  on u8180 i have a very fast peak of 2/3V

                        diode mode on pin 1 of u8180 ?
                        pin 1,2,4 should be 1320 in diode, while pin 5 is 450. pin 3 is gnd.

                          in diode mode with red lead to ground and black lead to pin:
                          1=544
                          4=344

                          i have a motherboard here the same and i have the same values

                            check also r1460 r1461

                              R8178 = 100ohm and in volts I have the peak of about 2/3v fast every 4 sec
                              R1460=100K

                                    check diode mode on that resistor pin. then page 13 of schematic check all left volt of incoming pins like: PM_SYSRST_L, PM_PCH_SYS_PWROK, PM_PCH_PWROK and so on. check if stable volts.

                                          I am looking at an A2337 and found this for the order of power rails and what they do. Can this be confirmed before I dive into hunting down power rails that do not exist or are not neccisary?
                                          • PPBUS_G3H (12.6V-12.8V)
                                            • This is the main power rail that supplies power to the entire system. Check this rail first, as it must be present for other power rails to work.
                                          • PP3V42_G3H (3.42V)
                                            • This power rail is derived from PPBUS_G3H and is used to power the SMC (System Management Controller) and other essential circuits. It should be present if PPBUS_G3H is working correctly.

                                          I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

                                          Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

                                          I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

                                          The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

                                          With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                          Assuming...

                                          Hi all!

                                          I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

                                          I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                                          Hi all,

                                          TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

                                          I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

                                          A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

                                          Hi everyone.
                                          Macbook Air A1466 EMC 3178 (board 820-00165 A) not turning on and no charging light. Completely dead. With no battery connected it would power up and I could hear the chime, but nothing on the screen and then a sudden turn off. Sometimes during the chime. Opened it up and found some liquid damage. The flat that connects both boards has damage in one side (with a missing pin already). The connectors on the boards are fine, though.
                                          Also, there was liquid damage on the included picture area, which are R8111 and C8111. A quick and soft brush on it made the resistor be gone....
