Check the tensions and sub-sources, it may be some short

put a meter or scope on the power supply connector and make sure the power is not dipping - those can cause problemsLeave a comment:

Re: xbox one-s
Hey all, I have an xbox one s that is shutting itself off right after I turn it on. Fan does not turn and so seems like a short. I have replaced all the mosfets that everyone talks about but still having the same issue. Since I cannot find a schematic I am lost on what to try next. Can anyone point me in a direction from here? I don't know what is connected to what and what values should be. Much appreciated!Leave a comment:

Re: xbox one-s
Of course, most people (if doing this for customers) probably wouldn't appreciate the looks of a "hack" like that, even if it will solve the problem for good.
I think I saw it a few weeks ago, but don't remember if I wrote anything in there or not, so may not be able to find it easily.

it's in another thread,
some unobtanium from the bitches at ON-Semi.
tiny little package about 3.5mm square.Leave a comment:

no, but as it's in bits while i find a fet that DOES NOT come in 25's, i can take a couple.Leave a comment:

Re: xbox one-s
the 360 fix is simple,
put a spare cpu heatsink on the gpu and lose the dvd drive.
obviously you hack it first to boot all games from a harddrive.
in theory you could re-direct a lof of airflow over the original sink - but your still pushing your luck.Leave a comment:

Re: xbox one-s
Interesting.
Hey, I see more potential work (and customers) then!
Plus, I'd much rather be replacing MOSFETs than doing BGA work with the old Xbox 360's... which would always come back (or get thrown away) at one point or another due to the silly GPU chip going bad again and again and again.Leave a comment:

Re: xbox one-s
solved now, m$ using tiny smd fets that regularly go shorted.
typical m$ shit - they cant do anything properly.Leave a comment:

Re: xbox one-s
Nope, not me. But given the hardware... particularly the GPU - an AMD HD7770 variant, I'd expect the GPU VRM and RAM VRM sections to read similar resistance to a discreet HD7770 GPU. Just a guess, though.Leave a comment:

anybody got any usefull info on these?
resistance readings for example - to find shorts in the vrm etc.Tags: None

by TMTGTRFirstly I am not a tech. You guys may see mistakes or oversights in my methods so don't be bashful and feel free to post corrections/opinions.
=>Background:
I bought my son a used Xbox One original model: A12-220N1A Rev: 02 with original PSU & 2 controllers 7 years ago. I “modded” the unit placing a 4.5” 12V exhaust fan with a 9v wall wart adapter on top of the vent/fan of the unit. And plugged the Xbox PSU into a Tripplite LTR-600 voltage regulator. Also connected to the Tripplite are a 275w computer tower, an Xbox 360 PSU and a Westinghouse 52” LED TV. ... -
by cind12Hi guys, i was wondering, i've got 9Ohms on Vmem, one of the mosfet was shortet to ground, so i've desoldered hi and low mosfets nad still low res, then i removed all of the memory chips, and the resistance is still low, so did you had maybe a card with that low res on memories, and the card was working fine ?
Removed the U1866Q and still without result, i dont have thermal cam so can't see where is hot spot when incjeting voltage.
The resistance on core is ok 0.1Ohm ((Power 0.8V when on)
Resistance on 12V 4K ohms (Power present when on)
Resistance on 12V PEX 4K ohms... -

by Nagy DanielHi, I'm Daniel, and I'm new to the world of repairing motherboards.
I would like to create a table, or more likely a guideline about the voltage rails and their possible resistance rail.
I know that the motherboard design has a very big depend on the rail's resistance, but I would like to know what is the smallest value for a rail that can be acceptable. For example, I heard that some new gaming motherboards can have 0,5 Ohm resistance on the GPU rail, but on an older type, it could be a sign of a shorted GPU rail.
So, I generated a table with AI so I can... -
by StevedbHi all
