Is this a GAL? If so, an (ancient) HiLo ALL-07a takes AMI and GOULD PEEL18CV8, Hyundai HY18CV8, and ICT PEEL18CV8 and PEEL18CV8Z. A (just as ancient) DataIO Chiplab takes these as well, with exception of the ICT PEEL 18CV8Z.
Problem is both programmers connect through the LPT-port, which modern mainboards don't have anymore, and their DOS-based software programs the LPT-port at low level. It takes some tinkering to get them working in a Win DOS-box on versions newer than XP.
The TL866's device list doesn't mention these types.

Is the P at the end of the chip type designation relevant? If so, you'll have to study the datasheet to find out if the types listed above will actually be suited as a replacement.

So, it's not a GAL, but a PEEL PLD. Looks like the P at the end of the chip type designation just stands for 'Plastic' (i.e. the IC casing). As long as you obtain a (NOS?) substitute of the same speed category, you should be OK. Be aware that Ebay and AliExpress are littered with relabelled fake components, be it transistors, IC's and even passive components. Buy from a trusted reputable source.

Note as well that PAL's, GAL's and also this IC, have a security bit built in, which prevents their contents from being dumped. Check datasheet page 4, under 'Design Security'. You can't copy it like you'd do with an eprom. So, you first need to get hold of the (verified to be correct) data that you want to program the IC with.

Strange that the TL866 doesn't support this IC, neither does its successor (TL866 II)

          Re: Does anyone have a ( 18CV8P ) programmer

Supposedly my universal programmer supports the ICT PEEL18CV8Z but never tried it... unfortunately I know my programmer has bugs because try as I try, I can't get the likewise supported AMD PALCE20V8 working. It appears to erase but fails to program.

AMD PALCE16V8 and Atmel ATF22V10 both work in my programmer however, never had others to try yet... I wrote my own logic for them so no legality or readback problems

Oh, and yes, my programmer is connected to an old PC with a parallel port...

Can You give this a try and see if you can read the chip that I have

What do you expect from it?

I'm not sure if it's very legal to copy them, but I'd give a shot if you gave me a JEDEC fuse map file for one and a blank chip... but no guarantees, my burner could really burn them ...

The right BIOS Programmer - The right software (HP Elitebook 820 G1, 840 G2) no soldering, EC, DMI, ME
                by STKR123
                Greetings badcaps community,

I havent done this for a long time and want to start it all again, after some evil and annyoing illness.
So I apologize in advance, if some phrases might sound a bit like gibberish or illogical to you.

Im trying my best to fully describe what I plan to achieve and hope I was choosing the right sub-forum for my new adventure.

                I have a Elitebook 820 G1 and a Elitebook 840 G2 here.

These ask for a password when entering the BIOS, but boot just fine from the internal SSD.

                I learned that desoldering...

                RT809H Programmer Firmware Corrupted
                by Teeheeze
This is a shot in the dark, but I was just using my RT809H programmer and it got stuck in a certain state so I power cycled it. Now, the device LED just flashes quickly and does not connect to the software. I've tried to update the BIOS of it and it fails. I went so far as to remove the ROM from the programmer itself but it's some weird chip (I believe ATMEL, but I can't find any datasheet on it) so I've been unable to read the BIN from it w/ my other programmer. Chip has ATMLHC4C56BM CN written on it (I think). I'll upload an image. I have the programmer's BIN ready to program it manually. Anyone...

ITE IT8390 (IT8390E-256) programmer "ITE Download Board 4" user manual + firmware, flashing ITE ECs on the cheap
                by H34TO
Recently I've gotten into EC flashing due to my broken laptop(s) and started frantically searching methods for flashing the IT5571E-128 chip on the cheap(due to me beaing a student and not having a job) and noticed that ITE newer chips can be flashed via ISP (In-System Programming) either via SMBus or the KBC (EPP - Enhanced Parallel Port) interface. While these can be achieved with programmers like SVOD4/3 or the RT809H/F those options are WAYYY out of my budget so I was horrified. But recently I stumbled uppon some programmers on aliexpress that claim they can program a variety of ITE chips...

                EMMC programmer questions
                by EazyBone
Looking to up my game a little bit, but these programmers seem a bit daunting.

Trying to get a device for EMMC repair, and it's very difficult to lookup all the words to find if I'm on the right track lol.

Trying to reprogram EMMC on Sony/Hisense mainly but would like to hit a few other brands.

My question is would either of these work? And is there a specific card reader I need for TV emmc? There is like 10-40 additional pieces that I can get but not sure what I actually need for my application only.

I may do eeprom as well. Can someone point...
