      Electric Motor Question....
      by SolomonMan
      All,
Yesterday in the morning the fan was fine. Its approximately 10 years old. Its one of those high Velocity types.

In the afternoon I noticed it was not running any longer.

      During the investigation, I confirmed the wiring, confirmed the 3 way switch is fine, the Capacitor measures the correct Microfarads. So I went to the Motor;

No smell of burnt and it spins very easily. I started to measured the continuity between the 6 wires.

I have included a diagram from a YouTube video I found but basically the wiring is identical. The only exception...

Question about a fuse from an electric fireplace
      by freakytiki4u
I am trying to fix my sisters electric fireplace (you know the ones with fake flames). It gets no power whatsoever! I removed the main board and I seen a fuse that says "T2A 250V" on it. Its the kind that solders into the board. My question is this: Is this a slow blow fuse? I would imagine it is due to it being in a heater but I needed to be sure before I order some from Amazon. Thanks for any info. Pics attached....

Nescafe Aeroccino, still fails with new Motor (red flashes only once)
      by juergenb
      Hi,

i am asking for some Help.
I have one of these Nescafe Aeroccino (Milk Frother) things with a bad motor.
The Motor didn“t start anymore and internet is full of users just swapping the motor for a Mabuchi RF-500TB-12560.
So i got a few of these from Banggood.

I swapped the motor and now i have a new fault condition.

In a working Frother you would press the start button, it will light red and work for a few minutes.
If you press longer it will light blue and just mixup the milk.

With the new Motor it just starts...

      by sbt123
hi there,im having a look at repairing a wood lathe for my dad,(charnwood w821)the problem is when turning up the variable speed control, the motor starts to stop and start by itself,if i continue to turn up the speed it will trip the mcb in the consumer unit, there is also a slight smell of burning from the speed controll box.,Another strange symptom is the lathe can be unplugged from the mains after switching it off and the motor will spin a couple of times by itself,so far ive put a new speed controll potentiometer on and new motor brushes, ive also tested the motor windings and everything looks...
