well PS3 problem , shutdown after around 40 min

didnt find any part relevant to consoles on the forum so i will post here .

Got a ps3 that was reballed (first model with card reader and 4 usb's )after been reballed , i can play very well GTA5 for ex , with no problem i barelly hear the console passing level 3 of the fans , after around 40 min it simply shut down and red led stay flashing . if it would be warming issue shouldn't the fan been more radical to get it coller (for ex LEVEL 7 of fan speed)? well its anoying since i feel some hot air coming frmo inside but fan not passing or speeding up .
    any ideas guys ?
    thk in advance

ok will do this to that one , also i think will do the same to my PS3 since mine was getting max level of fan when playing COD , and gpu was lifted the IHS and thermal past was applyed but still the same , so guess cpu is with same stress ,

will remove it with the cut wire and will apllpy new termal.
      thk

So you reballed it but kept the old thermal paste, if it was overheating the fan would ramp sounds like somthing els !

Try with a different power supply or open it and see if you have bulged caps.

I found this thread here that has a similar problem and it was due to bulging caps on the power supply.

well , nop . like xbox mentioned , it was the thermal udner the cpu IHS that needed to be replaced , it was dry like a stone . after replacing it , i play for hours no problem .
Indeed i made the same to mine , now i can play COD at total silent

but now i got another issue ,

GOT a ps3 i received few days ago , that client complain some time was not getting into the system . we cheked also that it was loosing hdmi signal and goes to AV without requestion , we have tryed the rebuild database , nothing sort it out , so we reinstalled the firmware , and all was good , we 'played the entire campaign of COD ghost , and always on hdmi and no problem , client took the console back to home saturday , and this morning he called me saying it it happening again (now he can access to the system , but it loose hdmi and goes to AV) this console never had any kid of internal repair , no reball or reflow , nothing , unless it was on another store and someone added the void stick again.
              opinions !?
