    PS5 Dualsense stick drift

    Hi,

I’ve been dealing with some stick drift issues on PS5 DualSense controllers. I’ve replaced the analogs on 4 different controllers using parts from 3 different suppliers (Mobile Sentrix and some from eBay), but I’m still getting slight drift, around 0.01 to 0.05 — only noticeable when zoomed in on the DualSense test GUI.

Anyone else had this happen even after replacing the sticks? Not sure if it’s the parts, or fault with the controller, or just how sensitive these are. Would really appreciate any tips or suggestions!

You need to calibrate the controller, as the sticks themselves have manufacturing tolerances
Use this page https://dualshock-tools.github.io/ and follow the instructions there

I just did mine, on that page https://dualshock-tools.github.io/ ; use Chrome or MS Edge, doesn't work on Firefox, click Connect button, select your controller, then click on "Calibrate stick center"
For calibrating stick range (may or may nor be needed, test moving the sticks in circles), do it with the controller fully assembled
Follow the instructions, and after you're happy with the calibration, press "Save changes permanently" button, then press "Reboot controller", calibration should be saved
Here's some screenshots of the process

PS5 Dualsense controller stick drift a mainboard issue?
          by dbuergi
          Hi all,

I got a controller where the left stick was moving left all the time (-1.00 at calibration tool). Even after changing to hall effect sticks it stayed the same and reset and all others things didn't help.
I removed the stick again and even without it calibration tool shows a movement to the left. Anybody knows where the fault can come from? Maybe any bridges or damaged SMD components?

          820-02917 4.69v/2.49a--weird one! New-Style ACE Controllers--where to source?
          by ugamazing
First time dealing with one of these 2023 16" units, and the board model is 820-02917. No schematic available from what I can tell, but a somewhat similar one in 820-02918. I am going to reference certain chips using the 02918 schematic because it will at least let you know what I'm looking at:

Unit had liquid-damage to U5500/UF400/UF500 areas. Had to do a ton of precision cleaning since we don't have any parts for this model yet. Got everything cleaned up but had a few resistors with burned pads that we replaced fine, but without knowing where to check for continuity, hard to...

PS4 CUH-2115B Slim All Controllers Do Not Sync By Bluetooth or USB
          by grimacelord
Hello. I have a PS4 Slim model number CUH-2115B that is having a problem with syncing any controller by USB and Bluetooth. Every controller I have tried will not sync, and I know that the controllers will sync fine to another PS4, so it's not a controller problem. I have tried 5 different USB cables and 3 different controllers and none of them sync to this PS4, but will on others.

The USB ports on the PS4 is delivering 5V power and does charge the controllers (I checked with an USB ammeter).

The controllers also do not work in Safe Mode. I understand that if they...

          PS5 dualsense edge
          by tommy97
          Hi,

We received a PS5 DualSense Edge controller for repair with a broken charging port. After replacing the port, the controller now charges properly. However, it doesn’t pair with the console and isn’t recognized on a PC using GUI software.

I don’t have schematics, but I suspect the issue may be related to the DA9087 chip. I checked for shorts around the chip but didn’t find any.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue with this controller or the standard DualSense model?...

PS4 controller left stick potentiometer replacement issue
          by ezenia
          Hello,

Not sure if this is the correct section, but I have a PS4 controller that I am trying to fix. It developed stick drift on the left stick and the usual simpler methods did not fix the problem.

So I went on eBay and ordered some replacement potentiometers. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174967976757 is where I got them from.

I took the green potentiometers off the replacement sticks and soldered them onto the PCB. Assembled the controller and ran some tests. The drifting was somewhat fixed (not fully in center, but way better than before). However,...
