National Optronics Horizon III Lens Edging Machine

This is from a light industrial machine used in the manufacturing of eyeglass lenses. The manufacturer no longer supports this machine but it lasts a long time and is well designed. It is operated by a "black box" that costs $3K to $5K to replace which contains all the boards which they only used to sell as a package and would not replace individual boards. So I opened the back box and found some totally obliterated components.

A closer view of the problem I found. Does the CR9 Component also look suspect?

Here is a good board from another machine.

Could replacing the resistors fix the board? Or is there something that caused them to burn them so badly it will just do it again to the new ones? The fuse was good on the board that I found.

Thanks in advance I am just dabbling in this and I am not a technician

It's a bit silly for the manufacturer to require replacement of all of the boards.
My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.

        Trademi Horizon, freeze after start.
        by warsztat
Hi, trademil Horizon freeze after start like video, i try reset (3sek push stop), remove and I put new ones capaticors 3,3V line digital and analog line.
The device in service mode passes all tests, except for the display test, where it hangs. The display in service mode during engine testing, etc. seems to behave correctly, it shows values, the engine is working, I can adjust its speed but only in service mode, in normal operation after pressing start the machine freezes

All the multiplexers that support the display seem to be working. It's like the processor...

Control board for treadmill Horizon Omega II
        by bryanX
        Hi guys!

Firstly, I will apologize if my topic is in the wrong section, please move it if necessary.
I want to repair one treadmill from the brand Horizon the model is Omega II. Practically, the motor power control board has suffered one damage. One mosfet has blown and I suppose by doing that, the short circuit has damaged a couple of diodes, one zener diode and two transistors. I hope that is all. I will find out when I will put them all back on board. I have dismantled and cleaned the rotor of the DC motor, tested it, and it seems to be working properly. I suppose it was water...

Good day and a belated happy New Year folks !
Wow....feels like forever since I've had a chat with all the wonderful folks we got here - guess you could say I grew up and can look after myself now
In all seriousness, I'm in need of some assistance choosing a microscope. I decided it's time I finally got one and I might as well put some of the money I earned caroling this year to good use

The reason I'm turning to our community for advice is because I'd like to hear some thoughts from people who actually own a microscope already or at least worked with them hands-on,...
