NEWER STYLE CPU BOARD - Same machine
The is the Main Board from the machine. Its called the CPU Board. This is the new style in which the program altered using the interface in the center. I have 4 of this style which are bad.
The first has an obviously fried component. I have included a closeup.
The second seems to function properly but sends a bad display to the LCD of the user interface so it is not usable.
I need to find out if its feasible to attempt to repair these boards.
Thank you for helping....

Re: Stepper Motors Board
Yes the LED lights function normally on both boards.
But some of the stepper motors do not function or do strange things

Re: Stepper Motors Board
That's what I was afraid of.
These come from a small manufacturing machine which edges eyeglass lenses from a blank to fit the frame. This board controls the 4 stepper motors, 3 of which are x,y,z movements and the 4th which runs a lens probing assembly which measures the blank as they vary in thickness.
I have about 4 to 8 of these which are dead. I supply boards for older machines in my industry which are no longer supported by the manufacurer by cannabalizing other machines. This particular board I am almost...

Stepper Motors Board
These two boards are configured differently but are two versions of the same board. Both are bad.
The function of this board is to control 4 DC stepper motors. It also serves as a pass through from the power source to the CPU board and then back through to most other functions of the machine.
I do not know the symptoms of these particular boards as to their malfunction.
The non flash pictures seemed to be better than when I used a flash so I posted them.
Thanks for any advice.

National Optronics Horizon III Lens Edging Machine
This is from a light industrial machine used in the manufacturing of eyeglass lenses. The manufacturer no longer supports this machine but it lasts a long time and is well designed. It is operated by a "black box" that costs $3K to $5K to replace which contains all the boards which they only used to sell as a package and would not replace individual boards. So I opened the back box and found some totally obliterated components.
A closer view of the problem I found. Does the CR9 Component also look suspect?
Here is a good board from...

Can anyone Identify these boards?
The seem to be new.
I got them as a extras in a batch in an auction.
The little one is from Luminations Inc and the bigger one had a Fraker Associates Ltd sticker on the back with the number 950700110 number.
I googled everything and came up with nothing.
Thanks in advance!...

Re: Vizio VX32L turns on with backlight, no video or sound
Dont worry I wont junk it. My girls only wish that was my style. Come to my house and see the junk everywhere!
I will save it like I do everything. TV boards are so plentiful and cheap. I have boards from my optical lens grinding machines common in my industry used to control stepper drive machinery which have a very small market but sell as individual boards even used for more than most complete HDTV's
Thats what i really need to tackle!

Re: Vizio VX32L turns on with backlight, no video or sound
Yes I got a reading of no resistance all around the base of the fuse holders of F1 And F2. I am still hoisting the white flag my good man. My first attempt at board repair certainly wont be trying to revive this poor Frankenstien!

Re: Vizio VX32L turns on with backlight, no video or sound
Thanks selldoor, killian, retired caps, tom and vince for the advice.
I finally located the fuses. she said it went bad once before and a local repair shop fixed it for $150. It worked for a couple of months then died again
Check out part of the fix- a fuse bypass on the F2. Nice work. I only took 1 year of high school electronics 35 years ago but old Mr. Stan Day never reccommended that method of repair. I will never forget bad boys rape our young girls......
I think I will...

Re: Vizio VX32L turns on with backlight, no video or sound
The board is not hooked up to the TV yet again. I just want to be clear where we are going and make sure if we get there i am capable of completing the tasks. i havent used a soldering iron since the 70's. So are exploring the possibility that that component is still good and some how the connecting wire just got fried? If so for me it would be easier to just repair the connection while the component is out of the TV. I am a little nervous about testing voltages on a live board. I will probably need a stiff drink to steady...

Re: Vizio VX32L turns on with backlight, no video or sound
Ok I fixed it. Here we get 110 to 115v at 60hz. no I didnt test it I am not really sure how to do that. I was assuming that it wasnt supposed to look like that. it was my impression most of these components were very low priced if one could find them....

Oh ok D for diodes that explains the arrows. D stands for dummy me too.
Luckily upon further inspection it seems the old U10 has seen better days so I guess its the culprit hope this is the only problem.
Man does that iphone take great closeups....

Re: Vizio VX32L turns on with backlight, no video or sound
Hello I have a similar problem with a Vizio VX32L i picked up cheap since I have a VW32L and VX37L working fine.
Vizio light would glow but nothing else. When I swapped out the main board from the VW32L the TV worked So the problem is narrowed down to this board.
Its removed from the TV so I located the fuses with the help of this forum.
D32- ok
D30 - BAD
D45 - ok
D53 - BAD
D9 - ok
D54 - BAD
Does this seem likely that 3 fuses...
