BIOS P9X79 PRO Rev1.02 Flashed with a wrong capfile - turns on-off now

Hi Guys, looking for ROM file for this bios so I can reflash the chip.

Can anyone assist? Or if anyone knows the procedure in extracting bin from official roms?

BIOS flashback procedure did not work - https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...f30775332f.pdf

    Cheers

Thanks, peste, unfortunately, same behaviour after flashing. Turns on and off within a second and keeps repeating the cycle.

      Surely is bios. Any suggestions?

Reflashed the chip with the bin file, I am out of ideas.

This issue happened when user tried to do flashback bios via USB.

Have you come across anything like this with these flashback compatible boards?

@SMDFlea Thanks for the bios file. I tried this process (with the latest non-beta fie from Asus website) it was flashing the LED activity on the USB drive and took probably 10 mins, then stopped. MB still was not loading up.

This one is not even engaging flashing, USB drive blinks once and flashback button stays lit. Renamed the file to P9X79PRO.ROM as per the instructions.

@peste, attached is the original dump.

Thank you guys being on this.

Have you desoldered the bios and flashed with a programmer ?

Hi, this is on the socket and easy to pull. Reflashed the bin file provided by @peste with RT809F serial programmer.
In fact, the original dump above is extracted from the chip.

Any suggestions? - I get similar to this guy - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCIhW-rvMnw

I have had 2 of these boards and worked on a few as well. Do you happen to know the last bios number you had on the motherboard before you trued to flash the new one?

MacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro Turns on functions then turns off when I plug in USB C cable to reset the computer. I disconnect the battery fully and then reconnect it and it won't turn back on. After letting it sit for a day I plug the battery back up, and the MagSafe 3 cable and it powers on and stays ons, once I plug in a USB C cable into the port closes to the MagSafe port it turns off and the Amber light turns off and won't turn on. No water damage, nothing, I want to do a DFU restore to wipe the computer since the customer stated they did an update and ever since it just decided to not work...

                                Dear all,

I did my first laptop repair related to a BIOS issue. Laptop is a Lenovo ThinkPad T480, and was not booting. With my brand new programmer, I did a back-up of the current not working BIOS, erased the BIOS chip, and flashed this dump: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...83#post3686683

Now the laptop works fine, I can access BIOS and boot on a USB drive. But I read stuff about DMI, and...

I am testing an old LG L192WS-BN monitor I have that gives an image, but has a backlight issue. When you turn it on the backlight turns on 1 second and it turns off, turns on again, 1 second and it turns off and stays off. Using a flashlight I can see there's still an image.

I replaced a bulged cap on the main board, but made no difference. I also got another exact same model monitor that has a broken ccfl (the connector got ripped from the panel and the main screen connector is also broken so I can't use this panel to test), tried using the main board from this one, same issue....

                                Hi,

I have an Anker SoundCore 2 (A3105) that I saved from the trash (well, I guess there's a reason why it was supposed to go into the trash...). The problem is that it always turns off after a few seconds (sometimes it stays on a bit longer, between 30 and 60 seconds, but it still turns off). The power light turns on and the bluetooth light starts blinking, but both abruptly turn off again. The "turn off sound" is still played after the lights turn off. Sometimes, it also loops the on-off cycle several times without me pressing any buttons. If I connect an AUX cable, music...
