Greetings to all members.
I need help with the repair of the Lenovo IdeaCentre A700-24ISH.
I found this computer in a junkyard, physically in excellent condition, but of course it doesn't work at all.
The power supply is ok, but when i press the power button, nothing happens, not even one LED that doesn't light up.
What I noticed is that the computer was already somewhere in the service because i see that the BIOS chips were all freshly soldered, so their functionality is questionable.
If anyone has a schematic and dump files for this computer I would greatly appreciate it.
What I managed to check is the following;
There are no short circuits on any part of the board, caps, mosfets etc... Voltages that are constantly present: 5v on all USB ports, 3.3v on the power button (when pressed it drops to 0v and that's ok), 3.3v on pin 8 of the two BIOS chips. One with the position U301 MX25L8006E (it is connected to the SuperIO IC IT8783 which also receives 3.3v power on its VCC pins and on pin 85 RSMRST has a constant 2.7V connected to the PCH bridge), one with the position U4701 MX25L6406E (it is connected to the PCH bridge IC that has 1.0V on VCORE.
There is no voltage on CPU or GPU VCORE.
There are two more BIOS chips with the position U5002 WB25X20CL and U3402 MX25L1673E which have no voltage on the VCC pins and I don't know what function they would have since I can't find a schematic anywhere...
I have read all the dump files of those chips that are attached.
I would just like to try to program all those eeproms with the correct files so that I can know if the problem is in the SuperIO or the PHC IC, so if anyone can help I would be very grateful.

by zeniusHello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...-

by macabookHello everyone,
I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
🧩 Initial Issue- Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
- External display (HDMI) shows

by Akhlz001Hi,
Could someone help trying to unlock this BIOS, seems that Dell have changed the layout of new Dell Pro 8FC8 bioses from checking HXD - 4000 bits do not need changing, only 2000. However after FF the section starting from '01000' upto 2000 bits and then soldering the chip back it seems that the microchip on the motherboard is recovering the bios back to original settings after first boot. Has anyone found a way to crack this extra layer of security Dell have implemented? Seems both HP and Dell have upped bios security to match Lenovo by implementing extra measures on a separate...-

by piratiHello everyone,
I recently bought a non-working Asus Zenbook Pro Duo OLED UX8402ZA that was listed for parts only. The seller mentioned that it had no display output but that the charging lights worked.
When the laptop arrived (without a charger and SSD), I connected a charger and confirmed with a multimeter that it was charging the battery. However, when I tried to power it on, only the backlight of the secondary display came on. There was no image, and it didn’t boot into the BIOS.
I decided to try flashing a new BIOS, but since I didn’t want to desolder...-
