Are you sure about that board number? I've been to MSI's website, and they don't list that as a product. There was, however, a MS-6330, MS-6337, and MS-6339.

why dont you show a pic of the board showing the locations of the caps. it must be similar to other 815 boards like ms-6337 and bx master

the ms-6337 which is also an 815 chipset board used 8 x 1500uf 10V in region of the cpu and 10 x 1000uf 6.3V in other places. Here is a pic. The rest of the caps were very small

              Re: MS-6334 need help!!!!!

so if you dont get better assistance on this board then i would say to recap all caps between the CPU and the ports with 1500uf 10V and the rest with 1000 6.3V.

there would probably have been a few caps near the cpu which were actually 1000uf 6.3 but it is safer to replace them with 1500uf 10v because we are not sure of their positions. there would be no problem with the higher values.

check the below diagram for an example using the ms-6337

post a pic of your board like that for final checking

Thanks for your help!!! I'm trying. Hope it's working.

                Here my way:
                EC11->EC19 : caps 1000uF-10V (10x20mm)
                EC4, EC5: 1500UF-10V (8X23mm)

                OK???

Do you still have the parts that you removed? If so, is that consistent with what you installed (nine 1000uF, 2 1500uF)? You want all the parts you install to have equal or better ratings than what you removed. So, if any parts were originally 16v, they are probably on the +12v line, and installing 10v parts will result in very short lifetimes.

It comes on to the board via the ATX power connector. Whether it is used on the board or not really doesn't matter; if it is, it would more than likely be for some peripheral. If there are any caps on that line, filtering it relative to ground, they need to be 16V or higher (25V would be preferable). In fact, the line would probably be at a higher voltage if it is loaded lightly or not at all, due to no load to pull it down, making properly rated capacitors all the more important.

Need help identifying capacitors on an MSI MS6163 ver 1. motherboard
                        by varkatope
                        Hey there, retro fans.

I have an MS6163 version 1 board I'm trying to repair which was obviously used as a donor because it's missing a few parts, mostly capacitors. There are few high quality images online that would allow me to read the capacitor values (bad angle, blurry photos). I thiiiink I've figured out most of the values for the missing ones except for one in particular, number C210, which is in the bottom-left of the attached photo. Could someone with this board be so kind as to take a look at theirs and tell me the capacitance and voltage values of all the highlighted missing...

                        Hi, everyone

I have some experience w/ repair of motherboards, but kind of newcomer w/ monitors, especially modern ones. Not taking into account replacing bulged capacitors at some old 19-22" stuff.

What we got: HP 27o will not light up, even SB led. No schematic available.
                        SMPS #ILPI-352 R.A; LED driver OZ9998EGN; Buck conv. R7731A.
                        Main #ILIF-516 R.A, processor RTD2513FR.
                        Panel #M270HTN02.5

When Power On (plug in), nothing happens, no SB led, no flash. I found +5V, it's steady with 5.17V. The second voltage is 20.8V. Also...

I've got one of these little usb satellite tuners that's started to play up. I'm not quite sure where the problem is but I've narrowed it down to a couple of areas, and I'm including possibly more background than necessary on the off-chance it might help someone else in the future. And yes, I know that this is beyond economic repair. A new one is only £50 or so, but I just got curious.

First a bit of technical background (sorry if this is teachin your grandma to suck eggs stuff - I'm trying to keep it to the minimum)....

                        Hi,

I just thought I would post info on some Antec SP-350 ATX PSU that are installed in 3 computers at work. Purchased the computers on the 14/06/2007 after about 14 months some of the computers would fail to power up from standby or boot correctly. Replacing 2 caps fixed the problem have been running for 6 months or so fine.

                        Caps replaced were:

EC10: 10V 2200uf (koshin) which was vented on 2 of the computers.

EC11: 10V 1000uf (Teapo) vented on 1 computer with different Main board.

Can't remember now but I think EC10 was...
