    Msi 865gm2

Hi, have and 865GM2 (MS-6743G) motherboard from an Acer Acerpower F1 PC, which does not post anymore. Bios has not been flashed. When applying power the CPU fan starts up straight away. have already tried another PSU. Is this board salvageable? Any known bad caps on this board? It has Rubycon electrolytic caps. Any help or advice appreciated!

    Pics?

If the caps are entirely rubycon, then they are probably OK. I had a similar board over a year ago. IIRC, it had a mixture of rubycon and G-Luxon.
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

also, maybe try resetting the bios back to factory standards to see if that might do it. if there is something a little wrong with the speeds or voltages, it can do it. Resetting the bios will usually bring it back to either basic speeds or lower to make sure there the system will boot.

Infamous Rubycon MFZ... Current recommended replacements???
          by bjs59
What we have here today is an Intel DG33FB motherboard, circa 2007... I need to replace some of the caps on this board... From what I have found, one of these caps was sort of well known here back in the day as they were used in XBoxes and XBox 360s as well....They are the Rubycon MFZ series, in particular the 6.3 v 3300uf 10mm X 20mm... I have found a seller on Amazon, The Capacitor Store, that has them listed but I have a hard time believing these are genuine pieces... The original recommendation was to replace any bad ones with Nichicon HZ series since the Rubycon MFZ's were a custom product,...

Philips 70PUS7855/12 bad colors when applying the tape fix on teh T-con board
          by silikon77
          Hi!
Got an 70 inch Philips tv model 70pus7855/12 from scraps and I decidet to give it a go. I'm an enthusiast but no porfessional in the electronics.
Found some advices watching youtube nad came up with this:
It came with no picture, after diagnosing it I found out that the right side of the T.con board was faulty.
I taped down the clock signals and I got a picture but the left side of the panel has less pronounced colours. Only the right 3rd side of the panel has good colors.
          See attached picture.

I tried a few combinations to block individual clock...

Dell Precision T7910 no bios, no post after applying SAS/RAID setup
          by bmxlovah
          Hi,

My Dell Precision T7910 died after enabling onboard SAS controller and applying RAID settings. There were no hardware changes between working and not working state, only setup (via bios -> controller settings). After applying settings and reboot PC turns on, flash leds (normally) but there's no further action, it just stays on with no graphics and no keyboard led's on. There's no Dell logo, nothing. I've tried resetting bios by jumper, replacing cpu's, replacing ram, removed/replaced cmos battery, disconnecting all drives etc. I've also dumped .bins from mobo chips SLI1 (16...

Lenovo Yoga C940-14 - will not power up each morning until resetting BIOS
          by survivalbloke
I've got this laptop here which is presenting very odd behavior. It works perfectly fine except every morning, it won't power up. Power button does nothing. Reset button on bottom also doesn't seem to have any effect, but if I disconnect the battery, hold the power button for a few seconds to drain capacitance, when I connect the battery back, I can power on. It will go through RAM training as normal, and eventually boot into Windows. The laptop will work fine all day long, but the next morning - the problem is there again.

          Any thoughts?

Need help resetting BIOS Password on a new to me HP ZBook Power G9
          by blionb
          Hi All,

I have gone through all the postings about what I could find for the HP ZBook Power G9 to reset the BIOS password with help from RC Unlocker. I bought this unit from eBay and while it's a recent build (August 2023), it has definitely seen much better days (bent case, beat up top cover and a messed up RTX A2000 - somebody definitely went to town on it).

HP tells me that they will charge me nearly the price of the unit (for the motherboard) if they find so much as a BIOS password set on it despite the fact that the unit boots without entering any password.
