god bless AMD for fusing everything. i find that my short blown one of OptiMOS and 20A fuse. after MANY usoldered/soldered capacitors and coils and three hours of work my mistake is repaired.
But this OptiMOS i cannot find to buy. I have this AON5470 with same layout from RX6800. Have anybody datasheet for it to check if have enought current to use it?Attached Filesif you find these attachements useful please consider making a small donation to the site

I soldered a wire onto the bottom side PCB, to get at the enable pin of a DRMOS, and now the resistance of the pin reads way more, even with the wire removed again. I don't get how I damaged anything.
I barely touch these when powered, I'd fry too much stuff.Comment

The 5470qe is probably a custom chip, no datasheet/public offer available, only solution is buy another broken card and use it as donor. You can try to write to Alpha&Omega, but wouldn't expect a helpful response. Remember that MOS devices can change and hold some time state during measuring from non-conducting to conducting and vice versa only due to the applied measuring voltage (gate must be included, state depends on polarity applied to gate), so sometimes it's possible to measure completely different values, and this must not mean, that the device is broken.Last edited by DynaxSC; 08-04-2022, 06:25 AM.Comment

Hello, after changed the shorted PCH Hm470 the Notebook have good value in the cool. Blue light comes on once U Press Power but nothing more Happening.
It have before a short on one Cap near the ALC Soundchip. I fixed the shorted Cap.
BIOS and EC BIOS are also new but still nothing Happening.
CPU has No Short.
Orderd a new alc295 can it BE that the Sound IC is Not good and thats why IT doesnt start.
There is also Missing a inductor near the 19,5v Port but IT should still Boot without it.

i bought a defective legion, tested it had the IT8227E-192 CXA shorted.
I ordered on aliexpress, carefully changed it under microscope, and now when i plug the dc in, keyboard flashes in all colors in loop, on button is white, and nothing more
The battery led is charging, it seems is the only thing that works
Screen is off, nothing, not even the backlight
could it be a non programmed IT8227E ?

Hello:
I have both these laptops that appeared to have the same fault so I thought I would have a go at replacing the PCH as something to learn, they both are using the same PCH.
I started on the ACER:
Up on connecting power no signs of life but current is consumed from the bench power supply and the PCH is hot.
All the caps on the top of the PCH are showing 0 ohms and the 3.3v rail is shorted.
I followed the videos from Sorin, Electronics Repair School on Youtube heating from the bottom to install. I practised on around 10 scrap... -
Hello all. First time posting but long time lurker here.
First off I am not expert but I do know my way around electronics and have a fairly good grasp on troubleshooting them.
I acquired this tv for free from a neighbor who had a repair man out and diagnosed it having a shorted lcd panel.
Symptoms were that I would start up and reach the Home Screen and work for thirty or so seconds then the lcd would fade to black and enter a boot loop where it would get shorter with each attempted boot.
Went through the basic trouble shooting...
