    Known Problems

Late last year i replaced my old KG7R powered pc with a nice new pc powered by an Asrock P43D 1600 TWINS1394 motherboard. it said on the box that it has polymer caps. are these anygood or is it just sales hype. has anyone had problems with this board. up until now it has been no trouble and goes like stink. it is fitted with a E8400 cpu @ 3000mhz. i have included a picture of it (not the 1394 firewire model)

    Re: Known Problems

If you have a digital camera, take some close up shots of those caps near the CPU so we can see what brand & series they are. Then, some of the senior members can offer their opinions.

Your picture is not clear enough to see the fine details.

      USB problems?
      by Hondaman
Recently I discovered my SSD died (OCZ/Toshiba 240 GB). It was in a USB enclosure, attached to the Linksys WRT-AC1200 router. Since then I removed the USB enclosure and attached it to my Win7 PC (AMD 8150 CPU, 970 chipset, 64 GB RAM). I also gathered one or two other USB enclosures to figure out what is going on.

(I suspect that I lost quite a few MP3 and FLAC files I recently ripped from my audio CDs, I think I lost very little un-replaceable stuff.)

I think it is IMPOSSIBLE for Win7 to have any problems with a USB enclosure as long as Win7 knows how to speak to the...

Lenovo 11e problems (any sata hdds are not recognized, sleep battery drain)
      by clabr
Need help to solve some problems with this laptop.

After working in bed with it one night and heating up too much (probably the cause of this problems) the sata HDD OS windows froze
After restart the original Sata HDD was not recognized anymore (but works fine in other laptops or PCs)

Tried connecting other good Sata 2.5 HDDs but not one is working in this laptop anymore (not the original nor others)

Before this had happened I observed some other problems:
When I tried replacing original mecanical HDD with a SSD HDD could not get them...

Samsung UN39EH5003FXZA won't stay powered off
      by Hannibal_Hector
      Hello,

Purchased a broken Samsung UN39EH5003FXZA (Version CD01) to have fun fixing. When I first acquired it, I did not connect any video signals and only plugged it into the wall. The unit booted and showed the “no signal” window and I could navigate all menus and change sources. I unplugged it, connected my over-the-air antenna to the coax, powered it on, got the unit to scan the HDTV channels, and I think then the TV self-shutdown with the melody. When I powered back up (melody), it would show the channel selected on the OSD and after a couple of seconds, it self-shutdown...

      A1990 820-01814A U1200 very hot when powered up, USB drawing > 4A
      by abajor
I have this machine. It powers up and gets fan spin, will even shut down when I hold the power button.
U1200 gets very hot under thermal camera, the next hottest region is UB000 and L7030. I'm assuming L7030 is warm due to charging.

Do I have a potential dead CPU? or just a dead U1200? Not sure what to check since everything is powered up.
