hey wigyori...no i am no good for dead boards. better ask kc8/TC/Bushytails for that info. Did you recap the board already and it is still dead? The first board i did was dead after some cap(s) failed open. Those 2200s are nasty and leakingall over the smt components and Fets. anything looking burnt?
where do you get your caps from? I need a cheaper supplier in europe?Last edited by willawake; 10-08-2005, 05:56 AM.

Yep, I recapped it - some of it were already replaced with Yageo caps, seems like it was taken to someone at the first round earlierI'll ask them if they know something about these.
Well, I get caps from a-store-on-next-corner, not a distributor or a wholesaler. They have Yageo and G-Luxons, not quality caps, I agree, but haven't had problems with these new ones since I began recapping a year ago. About the prices - given in HUF:
1000uF/10V (YAG) - 23HUF
1000uF/16V (LUX) - 24HUF
1000uF/16V (YAG) - 45HUF
1500uF/6,3V (YAG) - 24HUF
1500uF/16V (YAG, 5000h) - 55HUF
2200uF/6,3V (YAG) - 48HUF
2200uF/16V (LUX) - 42HUF
2200uF/16V (YAG, 5000h) - 60HUF
3300uF/6,3V (YAG) - 60HUF
3300uF/16V (LUX) - 55HUF
4700uF/16V (LUX) - 90HUF
Of course a wider range of caps is available, but I think these are the ones you're mostly interested in.

I had a couple cheetah's on a RAID array have catastrophic failure within minutes of eachother.... Sounded like jamming a huge hunk of metal into a fast spinning grinder wheel!! Was a hell of a sound!! Last time I bought seagate drives, lost a lot of data from that...<--- Badcaps.net Founder

yep thats the sound mate although not so bad, it is like a normal drive amplified 10x. i hope it lasts the car trip back heh. Seagates are good drives though. These are 3 years old. Had mixed experience with many manufacturers. gonna try samsung next.
damn psu. not going to make much money on this one.

heh, psu started working when I was getting ready to deliver it. that i cannot explain. has big panasonic caps and jamicon caps instead of the usual crap. Somebody had the right idea. That is one reason why these comps were stable for so long with badcaps although they had problems to start each day.
