    Asus P4P800 does not boot

I have an ASUS P4P800 motherboard which does not boot. I looked at the capacitors.
I do not see any bad one.

When I turn on the power, all fans turn on. Mouse and keyboard lights come on.
After a few seconds later, motherboard loses power. Mouse and keyboard lights
start to flicker, fans lose speed. As if something is short circuited.

I elevated the motherboard to see to see anything short circuited. That did not help.

I tried 4 power supplies. Same thing, except one power supply did not even turn
on the fans. LED on the motherboard was flickering.

I replaced all the components, CPU, memory, video card.

Did some chip go bad or is there a bad cap that I do not see?

    Thanks.

Pls check the CMOS battery voltage. The button cell (CR2032) should give ~3V. I've experienced many ASUS mobos failed to boot due to flat CMOS battery.

Re: Asus P4P800 does not boot

Yes, I cleared the CMOS taking the battery out and switching the bios jumper.

I changed the battery with another one I bought a year ago. I do not know the voltage on it.
But, another motherboard runs with both batteries.

The weird thing is that I put the .rom bios file into a floppy and original ASUS CD which has the .rom bios file into CD drive. Motherboard tries to access them. Floppy drive light and CD drive light keep flickering. But, floppy drive does not make sound like the floppy is read.
But, it can't read them. All the lights flash after a while. No video, no post.

There is many failed P4P800 series without any caps issues recently years in my side, always components failed. Esepcially the 4 mosfets between AGP and Ram, suggest you try to check the voltage with a multimeter first.

Hi all, I've spent the past week digging through the forums and guides to try correct my foolish mistake of changing hidden settings while tinkering around, and to be honest my heads overloaded so I'm hoping you'll be able to help.

I used a tool called 'Smokeless-UMAF' to access usually hidden settings in the bios. I tweaked one or two 'safe' things but made the mistake of tweaking a lot of settings under 'USB/Thunderbolt Configurations' when I didn't know what they did. For...

                Asus GL731GT Boot loop
                by trbovan
                Laptop is a GL731GT with the I7-9750h and GTX1650.

                Full model number is gl731gt-rb71-cb
Serial: (placeholder for when I get home)
                Board model: G531GT REV. 1.5

Issue: Laptop was password protected with admin password. I extracted the Bios with the CH341A and ASprogrammer. I Initially saved the backup. I then scoured the internet for a rom to flash to the chip. I found a file and flashed it. I then read it back to verify and mistakenly over wrote my backup of the original Bios.

I assembled and tested anyway. The bios worked, I was able...

Asus laptop won't boot (no power) - possible bad caps?
                by jrodefeld
I would like to see if anyone could help me salvage a very expensive laptop that is no longer working.

                The model:
                Asus Zenbook Pro Duo UX582L

I have used this laptop lightly since I purchased it new in 2022. I have always taken precautions to take care of it the best I could, and have never done anything that would risk causing damage to it or shorten it's life.

However, around six months ago, the laptop stopped working on battery power. It continued to work fine when plugged in, but as soon as power was disconnected,...
