I would like to see if anyone could help me salvage a very expensive laptop that is no longer working.

The model: Asus Zenbook Pro Duo UX582L
I have used this laptop lightly since I purchased it new in 2022. I have always taken precautions to take care of it the best I could, and have never done anything that would risk causing damage to it or shorten it's life.
However, around six months ago, the laptop stopped working on battery power. It continued to work fine when plugged in, but as soon as power was disconnected, the laptop would instantly turn off and I'd lose whatever I was working on. When I plugged it back in, it would boot from scratch, showing BIOS and normal Windows boot up sequence.
This continued until several months ago when it would no longer boot up even when plugged in. I get no lights, nothing on screen, no noises. No evidence of activity at all when I push the power button.
Some people on Facebook suggested some capacitors on the laptop may have failed and this can be easily fixed.
I did take it to a local computer repair place, and then sent it to Asus for repair.
Both simply came back with a diagnosis of "bad motherboard" with Asus wanting to charge me nearly $2000 (!) for a replacement since I was out of warranty.
I don't think either was accustomed to diagnosing exactly what is wrong with the motherboard and whether it is repairable (like soldering, or replacing capacitors).
I find it very hard to believe, given the newness of this laptop and how it was treated, that the motherboard would fail in such a way as to be unrepairable.
Can anyone give their opinion on whether you think bad capacitors may explain the issues I'm having with this laptop? And how easy of a repair would this be? I'd really love to salvage this laptop if possible.
Thanks!
