sound card dead after graphics card installation

Hi guys.I own Z690 F Strix board in one of my PCs....everything was working fine with integrated graphics card.I turned off power from it, installed graphics card from another PC, connected all the peripheral cables, optical sound cable of course when everything was switched off. Then I powered on the machine and integrated soundcard is dead. How did this manage to happen and if there is a way to diagnose and replace damaged component?
The new pci-e soundcard costs here 80 euros which is half of money I spent on motherboard.
I still can not believe that I am such a looser and don't know how the hell could this happen.
There is no red laser light on optical output which was before.I don't know if any of ther cables shorted out the sound card,I did not drop any of the screws nor did I make shorted out contact with screwdriver or any part of the motherboard.

pictures of the board please, without the graphics card. Chances are you scratched something with the metal bracket of it when inserting into the case.

I don't have high quality camera...what particular region you are interested in?
The only thing I could scratch is left edge of the board with graphics card bracket.
it's night.I will have better shots tomorrow at daylight.

Could this be the possible cause?
The MoBo IO was touching metal part of the PC chasis where PCI brackets are.

So cheking the above picture makes me think that metal backplate of graphics card touched the components on the motherboard and shorted them out.
look at the left edge of the graphics card.
            Missing component?

I found this video ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-F GAMING WIFI + 12900K | PC Build - YouTube and it seems that ic imay not be installed on this board
There is a 0Ω resistor in that circuit, check that it is not open.

                  Where is that resistor?
and how do I check it with multimeter for short?
This? There are 2 of them.

Clear from dust, and also inspect the region around that screw , beside the yellow caps.

                            I measured 0.6 ohm each.

So before installing the GPU, I wanted to connect one more fan to its fan controller, and by mistake, I connected the fan controller instead to fan header on controller I connected it to connector named MB Sync, and I manage to do that because connectors are the same.
Each connector on fan controller is proprietary.
I then turned on PC, the rgb on fans light for split second and fan spinned for split second.
Then I turned off the PC immediately because I thought something ain't okay.
I did this twice (powered on the PC).
No connectors were connected to MoBo not fans not fan controller because fans were getting power and RGB through controller.
Controller name is MS Impero P500.
So I ask you, could this be possible cause of damaging MoBo?

what is the chance that some of the components is knocked out of the board while installing graphics card?

I found picture that I took immediately after graphics card installation,so I figured out I will post it here, if anyone can find something interesting that could be the cause of onboard sound card failure.
What am I particulary interested is region marked with red, now I am not so sure but what if it is possible there that graphics card touched the motherboard, componens there?
There is mosfet driver there and some caps.
I can picture that region too.

                                  Hello to the forum.

My name is Christos, I am new to the forum here and i am posting from Greece.

So i have this old German sound card from Marian, called Trace Alpha. To be exact i have 2 of them and i use them professionally for my small FM radio station here. The first one works like a charm, but the second one does not work at all.

To be more specific in the same exact pc with windows 7 (i even tried 32bit) the one works while the other doesn't.

So i tried asking for a schematic from the company and they would not give me one. Instead they...

                                  Hello
After months of trying I gave up my laptops sound card. I plan to solder a sound card on pcb inside my laptops case, probably connecting to usb ports inside. Do anyone has an experience to recommend pcb type audio/sound card suitable installing inside a laptop? Probably should have some type of amplifier for connecting to internal speakers ( speakers ).

                                  Thank you

                                  by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

                                  by Audeze
I have a 2019 75" x950g, and while playing a movie, the screen suddenly went dark in a weird way, where it faded towards one corner into being fully black. Now the TV turns on, and the backlight comes on, but there is nothing displayed except black. Sound still comes through the TV speakers, and i have tried doing a hard reset using the volume - and power buttons while plugging the display back in, but it did not fix it. I can confirm that pressing buttons on my remote is still doing "something" because I'm hearing sound still, even though the screen is black.

                                  Does...

                                  Hi guys.
I purchased this mini desktop PC from a guy in uknown condition but noticed that network LAN card is not working.
I changed few LAN cables, neither of the led lights on the LAN ports is blinking.
The card model is recognized in device manager, and no exclamation marks or smth like that.
Is there a way to physically test the LAN card (and how) with multimeter?
I also tried Ubuntu live distro, no luck.
