    MSI 6378v1

    hey,

board just decided to stop booting altogether after a system freeze in outlook express.

the caps appear to be in good condition yet it is running teapo's which i would presume are likely to be bad. No bulge on top and none underneath that i can see... they are mounted reasonably high and don't quite sit flush on the board like the other caps on there so was wondering if they would likely be the cause?

    any help appreciated.

    cheers,

Is there any power coming from the PSU? ie. are fans spinning, HDD's tracking etc.

When you say it stopped booting... does it even get to the POST screen?

mate the thing powers up just fine... it's a case of lights on but nobody's home.

have done everything with it and changed the caps for the hell of it but still no juice so i ended up repairing a badcap biostar with the same chipset and replacing it with that.

writing the board off it's not worth my time!

      cheers anyway bro.

        Re: MSI 6378v3

I just fixed this exact same problem using a higher powered power supply.

The machine turns on but does not produce a video signal or any POST beeps.

I checked the PSU with a volt meter and all the rails checked out fine. In fact the machine ran for months/years with this PSU. The only voltage that was slightly off was the 12v rail at 11.68v. It was a Fortron/Sparkle PSU and had internal adjustments but I could not adjust the 12v better than where it was glued to begin with.

The old PSU was 'newer' in the sense it had a P4 connector and NO -5v white wire, but the PSU that ended up working with the board was simply a stronger PSU by 20watts and did have the white -5v wire, but no P4 connector.

So if anyone has the "lights on but no one home" scenario, try a different, much stronger PSU and see how it goes.

Samsung UE50RU7170 not booting /no picture

          Dear all,

          My issue is the following:
Tv suddenly started to make Strange things and went out. After disconnecting power and restarting, it tried to start but failed. After each attempt it got worse and worse. Now only the Stdb light is on and it is not booting.

I checked the power supply -> Backlight on when disconnected from mainboard, so I guess Power supply is ok.
Additionally the upper right part of the main-board makes some whistling noise -> probably issue there and therefore issues with booting

Question 1: Where should I start to...

Dell Latitude 5590 i5-8350U LA-F411P kernel panic when booting from USB
          by Daniel Kubica
I got a bare Dell Lattitude 5590 with missing battery, RAM, RTC battery and Storage, I wanted to put some components in it and use it as my home laptop. After adding a FRU 2GB DDR4 2400 SoDIMM RamaxelRAMI've tried booting Linux Mint from USB, I got an error while trying to boot it. I tried reseating the stick, different slot, didn't help.
I tried to boot Windows 10 installer, as that was the stock system my model came with, got a BSOD as soon as the installer started booting, different code every time. I've tried switching to AHCI mode, I've tried linux in legacy mode, I've tried compatibility...

          by sylvain_92
          Hi everyone,

I am trying to repair my iMac A1312 late 2009 intel i5.

First of all it was booting but no screen on internal lcd but working with external one,

          I tried:
          - another screen and led power board (booting no screen - same as before)
          - another mxm graphic card (not booting missing 3rd led)

          * screen and mxm gpu tested are 100% working on another A1312 iMac.

I putted back the original mxm graphic card and what a surprise, now it's not booting anymore even with the stock parts.

          The main...
