    I do not understand this?

    I bought a faulty computer...It has a Gigabyte Motherboard Model Name : GA-H55M-S2H(rev. 1.0)
    --------------------------
    M/B Rev : 1.0
    BIOS Ver : NA
    Serial No. : 100640030273
    Purchase Dealer :
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    VGA Brand : GIGABYTE Model : GV-N95TD3-512H
    CPU Brand : Intel Model : i7 860 Speed : 2.8GHz
Operation System : Win XP SP : 3
Memory Brand : Type : DDR
    Memory Size : 2gb Speed :
    Power Supply : 420 W
________________________________ SO after initial tests I stripped the PC down and started on a bench test ...Clearly its the motherboard (unless its the CPU but I cannot test it) ... Now my attempts to get the M/B to POST have been futile...the fan goes then after 20-30 seconds the power cuts out and immediately repowers and then cuts out again etc etc....
So I started trying to get some answers and found nothing EXCEPT a whole lot of other motherboards mainly Gigabyte with the identical problem but still no answers ....
It just seems ludicrous to me that all these M/B's have the same problem but no one has an answer not even Gigabyte..

So as a last resort has anybody come across this ...I have been told its a capacitor problem ?? somebody else says no way so I am totally confused...
    Thanks Hk

TRy it without any ram in and see if it gets as far as the" no ram beep code."

Then try with just one stick
Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Seems to me capacitor problems on Gigabyte boards are fairly rare, don't most of them use really good quality caps?

Yup. Usually, they are Nichicon HM (if they use lytics at all, that is), although they could be KZG.
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

GIGABYTE GA-H110M-S2 - Stuck at Debug Code C2 - don't like Patriot Viper Steel RAM but works with G.SKILL
              by DynaxSC
              Hi,

I discovered a strange behaviour of GIGABYTE GA-H110M-S2 board.

              General test conditions:
              - Tested with Core i5 6500 and Core I7 6700K - no difference
              - Default BIOS settings, but tried also altering several memory setting - does not change anything

              What is wrong:

With BIOS F1 and F2 the board normally POST's and boots to Windows 11 with 2 x Patriot Viper Steel PVS416G440C9K RAM (4400MHZ, Samsung B-Die chips)

When BIOS upgraded to anything above F2 (ie. F20-F27b) the board POST stucks after 3 Debug Codes on Code C2

              A Dead/DOA Gigabyte GP-P450b 450W ATX PSU
              by momaka
More eBay specials: this time a Gigabyte GP-P450b 450W ATX PSU for $8 with free S&H. Listed “For part/not working”, as usual. Showed up in a beat up EVGA box without any padding… but that's understandable given the total price. PSU made it out fine without damage. It's a non-modular (yay!), pretty modern-day looking PSU with a black paint and all black cables (meh, not my favorite, but figure it's good to keep a few of these in case I do need one for a more modern PC build, just so my old gray boxes don't look too odd in there.)

And a shot of the label:...

              by mkdj
              Hello everyone,

About me, my goal and the equipment I (don't) have:
I am brand new to this forum, and I am eager to learn about repairing laptops. I have an engineer background although I haven't done electronics for a while. I have watched several Youtube videos in the last two months, trying to understand how to diagnose a faulty motherboard. I have a USB-C Amp meter and a classic multi meter. No DC Power Supply to inject voltage, no soldering iron to replace components.

About my issue and my goal:
A friend of mine has a MacBook Air M1 A2337 that does not...
