    EPoX 8KHAL

I've been using my EPoX 8KHAL for about 4.5 years now and, for now it meets my needs and I would prefer to keep it some more.

A few weeks ago the Agiler-ATX400 power supply died. I replaced a few caps and semiconductors and got it to work again.

A couple weeks later I started smelling something burning and I thought I'd wait until whateber it was died. Sure enough, the whole thing died and when I opened the box I found the four +5 pins of the ATX mobo connecter had melted and burnt. Ah, I hate the smell of defeat!

I could not replace the connector so I jury-rigged a wire directly soldered to the mobo to carry the +5V and, for now, it is working fine.

While I did that I noticed some caps bulging...

So, it seems like the prudent thing to do is a total mobo recap and replace the ATX power connector too. And maybe recap the PSU too... The alternative is to replace the system and sell this one before it bites the dust

Any thoughts? Anyone have a caps list for this mobo?

    Re: EPoX 8KHAL

I've recently recapped a EP-8KHA+ similar to your current platform, parts were easy enough to source (though I did import some) just depends were you are in the world

A detailed thread which should help you locate the components you require can be found HERE

Good luck... and post some pictures of the nasty wee' fellas if you get the opportunity

      HELP! A1398 Dead,
      by Fam787
I bought a second hand Mid 2014 A1398 MacBook Pro when I lived in Australia. I'd bought it as a back-up machine because I had a Mid 2014 MacBook Pro, and realising it might one day fail, I wanted a backup machine because I don't like change.

Two weeks after buying MBP2, the seller called me to check if everything was OK with the unit, which I thought was odd. At that stage I might have turned it on a couple of times, but I'd not used it when he'd called. Over the last few years I used the machine seldomly because my original mac has been pretty OK. Every 3-6 months I'd charge it...

dell e6540 boots to black screen (no dell logo)
      by jake-b
      good morning all,

i purchased a used dell e6540 laptop used 10 months ago from a vendor on ebay. intel i-7 processor, 16 gb ddr3 memory, 256 gb ssd., mobo la-9413p (rev 1.0 dated 2014-08-04). i've inflicted no damage on it since purchase but its past is unknown. starting 2 weeks ago it began to fail to boot (initially 9 of 10 boot attempts failed, now 10 of 10 fail). there was no new hardware or software added (i was using as a kodi video server). the post process doesn't complete and booting no longer displays the dell logo screen - screen remains black with no backlight. some other...

Mobo MSI B550-A PRO password popup
      by Cerberuska
      Hello guys,
I have interesting problem. My MoBo MSI running on Ryzen 7 w/o graphics just good. I swapped to Ryzen 5 5600G and on the boot I stuck with screen on picture. Enter Password. I checked BIOS setting with Ryzen 7, no security is enabled, BIOS password or TPM.
BIOS I updated to last one.
      any suggestions?
And same thing for two different 5600G, and yes, MoBo supposed to support it.
      Thank you...

Dell G3 17 3779 - no display after mobo replacement
      by mrsith
      Hi guys,

I have a friend's Dell 3779 that came to me with severely shorted mobo. Did not manage to isolate the cause, most likely that was a bga shorted. Went for a replacement motherboard. Got one from China, apparently it's been tested prior to shipping. The mobo starts up normally but I am getting no display whatsoever.

Tried using external monitor, but being blind I am not sure if laptops goes as far as booting to Windows, a d without it I cannot get hdmi to work. Can't see boot menu options to make sure it boots to Windows. Went ahead and did a blind bios update,...
