    Looks really nice, great little board!

    Those twin segmented LEDs are one of it's most appealing features, next to layout & performance IMHO

      Yeah, I agree with Taz. I love my 8RDA3I+Pro and wouldn't hesitate to recap one of these boards once I had enough practice.
      You know there's something wrong when you open up a PSU and are glad to find Teapos.
      Why I don't buy cheap cases!

        that green cpu fan is... cute

        i have problem with the 8kha/8k3a though, they seem to hate my creative usb mouse or other usb mouse. it have to be replugged before it can works. usb fd or other usb devices can run well with it, though.

          I prefered the blue AMD ones

          BTW my USB camera & webcam don't seem to have any issues with my 8K3A+ in either Windows or Linux (webcam isn't supported though)

            Re: ep-8kha+ extreeme makover total recap.

            something funny happened at the cincinnatti hamfest sunday.
            i bought 3 of these boards for $5.the seller told me he was gonna hunt me down on badcaps forums to have me do one up like the one i posted here.
            he had been here an seen my post and pics.
            thought he was gonna fall over with heart failure when i pulled out my ticket and he saw my callsign.
            his wife bought a new system so he dumped this stack of mobo's at the hamfest.
            1 has an athlon xp 2800 on it!
            he said if they didnt sell he was gonna drop them in the can
            seemed shocked anyone would pay even $5 for visably blown up stuff.

              Re: ep-8kha+ extreeme makover total recap.

              event like hamfest is really a great moment for 'hunter' like us. here we don't have 'hamfest' but we have a place where you can still search old hardwares like p2 or p3 systems/component. i bought some old newton, delta, or hipro psu with cheap prices per item, less than $4. cases with ibm psu is $7-8. p3 cpu is ~$15-25. that's why i am optimist that until 2010 the ordinary people don't need anything higher than 1-1.7ghz cpu, wether it is p3, tualation, duron, athlon etc. think about some student with low budget in third world country, they need a computer and wont bother if it's all only worth $40 including the monitor. you wasting good hardwares will just make us mad

              BTW my USB camera & webcam don't seem to have any issues with my 8K3A+ in either Windows or Linux (webcam isn't supported though)
              my solution is to use cheap usb card. epox board seem to hate (usb) mice.

                ASUS P5GC-MX motherboard recap
                by momaka
                Here’s another motherboard that needed a full recap: an ASUS P5GC-MX.
                This one was gifted to me some years ago by user Pentium 4, along with a few other goodies. It actually came in working order with no bulging or leaking caps. However, I noted there were United Chemicon KZG caps everywhere on the motherboard. The CPU VRM output (CPU V_core) was the only exception: it had only 2x KZG. The rest was 6x UCC TMV 4V 680 uF caps… which aren’t any good news either.

                So here is what the motherboard looked like with its original caps:

                no-name Radeon 9600 XT recap and cooler
                by momaka
                I've been seeing a lot of cheap-looking (but not always so cheap) no-name AGP video cards on eBay for a while. They started popping up quite a bit when the market for AGP cards became more alive all of a sudden due to interest in “retro” PCs. One thing that struck me about these cheapo cards is that they almost always seem to come with garbage caps - including the abominable Sacon FZ. That aside, though, I've been wondering about the rest of the quality (or lack of?) on these cards. So I decided to satisfy my curiosity yet again.

                This one was actually suggested to me by ChaosLegionnaire....

                Recap motherboards :: Abit KG7-LITE and Soltek SL-75FRN2-L
                by Foetuss
                Hi all

                Hope this is in the correct place.

                I'm planning on recapping both motherboards. I actually already ordered recplament caps for them, where I will be changing out most for poly's.
                Could use some double checking to see if I'm not doing something stupid .

                Pictures of the boards are attached.
                What I will be replacing with what : (planned)

                Soltek Golden ::
                4 1500µF 16V 10mm (5mmL) KZG => APSG160ELL152MJ16S (Chemi-Con 1500µF 16V)
                6 3300µF 6.3V 10mm (5mmL) KZG => APSG160ELL272MJ20S (Chemi-Con 2700µF 16V)...

                Got 4 LG L222WS 22" for free - psu recap
                by goodpsusearch
                Got 4 CCFL 16/10 monitors for free.

                The resolution is almost Full HD (1680x1050)

                VGA Input only is a bummer though.

                Uses cheap TN panel with terrible viewing angles.

                Even though this is not 17" 5:4 screen, still has very low resell value here. Can be found for 15-20 euros.

                All the 4 monitors were not working and needed psu recap. Used mix of mediocre / junk caps to recap them, then donated 3 of them to friends/relatives and kept 1 for myself. Also like to install extra caps on empty spaces to help them last longer.
