    GA 6vx7 4x

Still working, just noticed that I have one burst and one bulging CHOYO cap. A 330uF 25V XR 105*C 45A and a 1000uF 10V HR 105*C 35A. Recomendations for new caps. I have a catalogue from which I can choose Vishay, Xicon or Nichicon caps, which company and which model type should I look for. for nichicon I have UVZ, UPW, UHE. the rest are kinda confusing. should I go for low esr, low impedance, lead free?

Any and all info will be greatly appreciated.

I also have a shuttle spacewalker 370, with most caps burst, but I believe that one to be beyond repair, it won't post and it leaks current through the system which gives a nice jolt when trying to work on the board even when its been disconected for a minute or so.

    Nichicon UHE first then UPW
UVZ not low imp. which you need

UHE then, I have no idea which I need, I know the basics, but not the feature specifics, low impedance, low esr, no idea if any of those features are really needed.

UHE is low impedance, hi reliability, lead free.

Are you looking at the Mouser catalog? If so, Nichicon UHE and UPW are the only ones they carry in 1000uf and up that will work. Just find size. Bigger volts and uf are ok(within reason) but not smaller. Best to match what is on the board now, unless not available, then go to next volt/uf up. Case size is important if they are going to be a tight fit, but if you have room, bigger case is probably better.

yup mouser, but I found perfectly correct caps for all three models.

O I see, I re-read your original reply, I do need low impedance. and only UHE and UPW have that feature.

              really, i've never ordered before.

UHE sounds fine I have 11 caps of 330uF, 5 caps of 1000uF, and 13 caps of 1200uF, all choyo, but only two visibly bad. I also saw one GSC 33uF 16V. and almost missed a choyo 22uF 16V. for now I'm considering changing out all the 330's and the 1000's, since they are the ones which had the bad ones. should I change the 1200's

Yes, change 1200 also. Always change out all of bad brand above 1000uf. Since you have bad 330uf, of course you would change those.

thanks for the info. I love that I could get this resolved the same day that I posted, thanks for the attention.

should I venture to fix the shuttle spacewalker 370, if its not posting and the current flowed through the case and components even after disconnected?

I unplugged it as soon as it gave me the jolt, when I was getting ready to pull the agp card. and even after unplugged it gave me a couple of lesser jolts minutes after.

kakayo; it sounds to me that you run your computers without a proper mains ground

That is a really bad idea, a floating ground in a PC can cause all sorts of strange problems, because, as you have no doubt felt, the charge held can be quite significant...

sure its not static zapping you?
could be pri-sec breakdown in the transformer in the psu but thats rare.
i would change the psu anyway.

Recapping the power supply board for a Samsung 305T monitor, everything is Capxon except 2 Rubycons. I can't find data sheets matching these online, so don't know what ripple numbers, impedence, etc, to look for. There are a few different looking GL series data sheet PDFs, but the listing that matches the capacitance and voltage is a much bigger case size. I've narrowed down selections with lead spacing and case diameter, and what's in stock at Digi-key

1 x Capxon 1000uf35v GL C720(is this a part number or batch number, can't find it anywhere) 105c

Capacitor Diarrhea - Nichicon PL Series
                            by DrewPhillips
Hello All, I have on the bench a couple of PSU's which have some failed Nichicon PL series caps. They didn't "puke" their guts through the top, but instead "diarrhea'ed" corrosive brown electrolyte through the bottom, down the legs and onto the board. On one cap, the electrolyte rotted the cap right off the board leaving 2 little stubs, and also corroded a trace on the foil side.

The PSU's are Power-One MAP series and are ringing-choke topology. The semiconductors have date codes in 1993. The PSU's were used in a commercial application, fan-cooled. They had failed...

                            by quickname
I'd like to start out by thanking this forum for providing the info to be able to repair my 15 year old CP1500AVRLCD UPS. Here is all the info I gathered during my trouble-shooting and re-capping.

Like clockwork, I've had to replace the SLA batteries every 4 years. It was about that time and the UPS was acting like it needed new batteries... randomly shutting off with AC present, not being able to charge fully, and poor runtime when AC was removed. So, I replaced the batteries but noticed that it was not charging properly.

I decided to verify that the batteries were...

                            Mid/late 80's Nichicon Yellow Caps
                            by nick3092
I recently acquired a set of Bose Roomate speakers from the mid to late 80's. Basically the right speaker cabinet is completely passive, and the left one has the power transformer and amplifier circuit in it. Out of curiosity, I opened it up to see what the circuit looked like. Looks like they used all Nichicon VX (2x 4700uF/16v for smoothing off the bridge rectifier), a couple random Nichicon SE series sprinkled on the board, and what really caught my eye - 2 yellow sleeved Nichicon caps (both 1uF/50v with no real series marking. Below are pictures of the caps. The only thing not shown in these...

Is there datasheet for nichicon LXJ series?
                            by chth96
I want to calculate capacitor ESR referring to below guide.

                            https://forum.digikey.com/t/calculat...-from-tan/2633

                            I must find out dissipation factor(Tan(δ)) for nichicon lxj series(6.3v 1500uf,25v 1000uf ,10v 2200uf)
I finally found out datasheet which has all series of nichicon capacitor. But unfortunately, It removed old nichicon capacitor.
Is there anyone who still has old nichicon datasheet which has information of LXJ series?
