    Choosing appropriate PoE extender

    Hello,
I have an application that uses 4 cameras PoE. I have one PoE switch in a cabinet in a server room while Cameras are outdoor at different locations. The closest camera is at distance about 80m (that is the cable length), while the furthest camera is about 160 meters. For sure, three cameras are more than 100 m from the switch in cable length. Voltage level is about 48VDC (that PoE switch is supplying.
Since PoE is working reliably up to 100 meters, obviously I neeed to use some kind of PoE extenders. In order have two options:
    1. To buy 4 outdoor PoE extenders, like this one ( DIGITUS Outdoor PoE Extender - 10/100 Mbps - 100 m Range - Protection Class IP67)
    2. To buy 2 Outdoor PoE 2-ports extenders, like this one( FASTCABLING Industrial Outdoor PoE Extender 2 Port, Repeat 328ft PoE for Mesh, PTZ Cameras). This would save some cables

The thing that is strange to me is that these extenders doesn't require any external power supply, so I'm not sure how they're boosting signals. How these extenders really works and the my question is whether I need a different type of extender, one with auxiliary power supply.

    Thank you for your advices.

POE is something like 42v - it survives long cable runs.
so the boosters pass the POE power through while buffering the ethernet data.

      Hi stj,
I have decided to go with FASTCABLING option, I'll install a small cabinet with two 2-Port PoEs.

No Ringer Sound in Intercom outdoor panel (Voice Communication Works)
        by salah11
        Hello everyone,
I have a persistent issue with a commercial intercom system (likely made in Turkey, based on the unit). Voice communication (audio) works perfectly, but the outdoor panel did not return the ring when the call button is pressed.
Whell the system consists of three main circuit boards (see attached photos):
        A. Board 1: Power Supply / Ringer Generator (White Board) with LS1240A, BD442 and BD140 Power transistors for ring amplification.
        B. Board 2: Handset (Indoor Unit) Role: Contains the microphone, the speaker/baffle, the manual hook switch, and the open-door...

sparklling and buzzing around the switch on the extender cable
        by paparazzo79
        My dear electronics repair guys:
I switched off this thing (on picture) via switch and switched back ON but immediately I could hear buzz and like a little electric shock around red switch and these 2 lights started to blink but should be ON all the time.
I then switched it OFF,got afraid that I burnt the PCs via electric shock.
I saw a little current flash around this red switch and I could hear buzzing.
All the devices were connected to the extender when I did that but none of them were working at that time (they were in standby mode)-
        This is second time it...

NETGEAR extender power supply problems recap working good now
        by sam_sam_sam
This extender unit was having drop out issues and not very reliable and I stopped using it and it sat around for a couple years not being used

Then I had to replace my router because of a lot of dropouts and becoming anointing my wife has to work from home because of the Coronavirus and she had just about enough of this

So we got another router but the range of this router is not quite as good my door bell camera would not work correctly anymore so I found the extender again and replaced two 1000uf@16 volt capacitors ( ESR values of 02 and 04 ) with a very low profile...

I come from this thread (I have to flash a SOIC-8 chip, possibly with a clamp).
I began searching for a CH341A, since it has low price and it's an operation that is not going to be frequent.

But during my search I discovered that there's often an issue with voltage, that is 5V instead of 3.3. Someone says to look at PCB colors, some other that it doesn't matter....
