    Motorola Surfboard SB5101U Modem

    Hi,
This morning I was unable to connect to the internet through my Motorola Surfboard SB5101U Modem. The function lights did not display their usual pattern. Rebooted the modem, no improvement. Phoned Comcast and a tech sent a signal to the modem to test it, told me it was unresponsive and needed to be replaced.
I've fixed a few monitors with bad caps before so I thought I would take a look inside. Most of the components were tiny, machine assembled I guess, way too small to replace. But there at the side of the board was a 470 microF 10V capacitor. No apparent bulging. I had a 470micoF 25V in my parts box and swapped it in.
After assembly and a call to Comcast to reset the connection my internet service is back to normal. As I recall I had been having minor connection problems and some latency with the modem before the total connection failure.
    Al Moodie.

I remember seeing a Motorola SurfBoard SB4100 with Taicon and Lelon units on the power supply board made by Delta.
My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.

I have that exact model it's been running here since 2002. When I cracked it open just to see what caps were inside. It did have a Delta power supply but it had Chemicon caps on the primary and secondary.

Guess my modem was an earlier run before they cheaped out on caps.

Got no idea what these are.I got semi lucky and found a 22F44 on a donor. Unfortunately the 22F43 is already missing. If anybody knows what these are and find a cross would be greatly appreciated!

Lithium 12v tool battery charger... no negative connection?
          by budwich
I have a drill and battery but no charger so I bought a "universal charger" 120ac in ... 12vdc out (not really universal in lithium world). Anyway it has three contacts, positive, negative and "T" (temperature sensor). I connected those contacts to the contacts on the battery. No charging happened and only the status light is on (green solid) which the label indicates "100% charged".... but the battery isn't near that at around 9v and dying. There doesn't appear to be any difference whether the battery is connected or not. I got suspicious and pulled the...

Legion t 5 front audio panel connection problem
          by Demetrio87
Hi everyone, I hope someone can help me solve my problem, I have the case of a legion t5 where I have installed an asus tuf gamig a520m-plus motherboard, the audio connection cable on the case is an F_audio connector with 14 PIN , on my new motherboard the connector is a 10-pin AAFP, I saw that there are adapters on sale but at the moment I have no way of having them available in a short time, I made several attempts and managed to listen from the front headphones, only that there are some problems, the headphones are only detected if the microphone is connected, I definitely got confused with...

Motorola Minitor V pager no audio / sound repair
          by CapLeaker
Got a bunch of Motorola Minitor V pagers from Fire Departments here trying to fix some out of the non working ones. These pagers are known for either no sound / audio or they don’t charge. The internet is full of suggestions like metal shavings inside the speaker?
Anyway so I took one of the Minitor’s apart for my amusement in order to see why that is and nobody can fix em. There are no service manuals or schematics for these that I know of. However… I did find the problem!

On the main board of this unit where the speaker connects to there is a metal shield....
