Motorola Minitor V pager no audio / sound repair

Got a bunch of Motorola Minitor V pagers from Fire Departments here trying to fix some out of the non working ones. These pagers are known for either no sound / audio or they don’t charge. The internet is full of suggestions like metal shavings inside the speaker?
Anyway so I took one of the Minitor’s apart for my amusement in order to see why that is and nobody can fix em. There are no service manuals or schematics for these that I know of. However… I did find the problem!

On the main board of this unit where the speaker connects to there is a metal shield. Either pry one corner open or take she shield off (see pictures). Right in there is a SOP-8 IC marking 701. That is a TDA701 low audio amp and it’s bad on mine.

i took the IC out of a non charging one and put it into one that has no sound. Works A1!

you dont see stuff online about fixing newer / current motorolla stuff because they allegedly have a legal team supressing 3rd party info on the products.
thats why you wont find anything online about their DMR radio's.
they make far too much on service contracts to share any crumbs!

Not only that. Now it is also the programming software. You need a dealer account, then log into motorola with your account, then purchase what you need, verify your credentials on the motorola server, then you can activate your entitlement on your programming software. Oh, yes... and verification emails too. Crazy @$$

          by Piaskos
Hi, i've got problem with Dell Vostro 5490.
          Board - Mantis CML 18788-1

Windows says "no audio device detected". The other functions work properly.

          What i've done:

          1. I checked motherboard

          2. I changed audio codec (ALC3204)

          3. I reflashed bios with clear ME

          4. Audio is enable in bios

          5. Both speakers are good

          6. After installing the drivers from the Dell website, the devices visible in the manager:
          - Audio for intel displays

          by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

HP 8470p - distorted sound and noise when playing audio
          by televizora
          Hello.
I have an issue with HP 8470p - rather strange one.
I have a noise and sound distortions on both internal speakers and external speakers, when I plug such into the 3.5mm audio jack.
Seems like the noise is present especially when I play audio, where there are parts/sections where the volume of the actual recorded sound is low.
Interestingly, when I play the windows sound test, everything seems to be almost okay. The sound/distortions are similar to when you have interference from some other piece of equipment nearby or when you have an audio receiver with bad amplifier...

Monitor Audio RSW12 - Green light, but no sound
          by MOSSEP
          Hi

Im hoping someone might be able to give me some idea of what may be wrong with my Monitor Audio RSW12 Sub.

Ive owned it since new in around 2002, so would really like to keep it running if I can, it was the first ‘decent' bit of audio equipment I ever purchased and is a little sentimental.

The issue I had was that it would power up with the red light, but sometimes the green light would not come on and I would get no bass from it. If the green light did come on though, I would get sound out of it.

I have already tried replacing all of the...

Modding, adding usb/c audio pcb to laptop with faulty sound card/chip, Lenovo L340
          by alpersen
          Hello
After months of trying I gave up my laptops sound card. I plan to solder a sound card on pcb inside my laptops case, probably connecting to usb ports inside. Do anyone has an experience to recommend pcb type audio/sound card suitable installing inside a laptop? Probably should have some type of amplifier for connecting to internal speakers ( speakers ).

          Thank you
