Without a picture it's hard to make an informed evaluation, but it certainly sounds like a bad bond between the LCD panel and the flex conductor from the panel board. IF that is the case, it's unrepairable.

I need to use a video so that you can see what I am talking about, but having a problem converting it to something I can use on here. Any ideas would be appreciated. It's current state is AVI.

Not many options, and video conversions are one of the many areas in which I lack skills. I'd suggest posting it on one of the sites that allow hosting videos; preferably one that doesn't inundate the unwary with dozens of pop-ups praising the erotic talents of 40 year old 'teenagers'.

Not a particularly good site. McAfee and AdBlocker Plus both issued warnings and blocked a number of popups, including one triggered by playing the video.

HOWEVER, your video showed four things: You will never be a pilot (the bars were horizontal, not vertical, your description was inadequate, my conclusion was incorrect, and you have (probably 60Hz) hum bars. This MIGHT be a grounding problem, but it is far more likely that the mains filter cap in the monitor's power supply is bad. It doesn't happen often, but it has been known to occur.

Sorry about the description (may have dyslexia of the eyes. lol). I love your sense of humor, but anyway how would I check to see if either of the above you mentioned are an issue. Thanks for the correction.

Examination (especially around the leads) and / or replacement of the mains filter cap.

I have finally gotten back around to working on this. Which 1 is the mains filter cap, and how do I know if it is the problem?

It's the biggest on the board; often lying on its side.

I tried wiggling the LDVS cable to no avail. Is my panel just done for?

I have a older eddy current tester made by Olympus that uses interchangeable TFT-LCD screens. I have two devices that each take the same removable screens. One is an Olympus NORTEC 200D+ and the other is an Olympus SONIC 1200M EMI. I have searched the internet high and low for service manuals for these units with no luck. Both these units were used extensively by the US military for NDT on airplanes. The detachable screen plugs into the base unit via a weird non standard VGA connector. Buttons on the removable display are used to power the units on. When the power button is pressed the unit makes...

KingWin ABT-650MM 650 Watt ATX PSU [PCB: SW8835REV:A]

For today's thread, I have a KingWin ABT-650MM ATX PSU. Official web page with the PSU specs is still up and can be found here:
                            http://www.rmac.kingwin.com/products.../abt_650MM.asp

I just can't help it when I see a broken / for parts PSU on eBay that's listed for cheap and looks at least somewhat interesting. Well, OK, I won't lie – on the outside, this PSU looks anything but interesting. It's a plain gray box with colorful “spaghetti cables”.

What mostly drew me into buying it is its 2x PCI-E power connectors...

                            Sceptre 48" TV backlight LED`s
                            by spirittoo
Trying to fix a backlight problem with a Sceptre 48" TV.

I found replacement strips with the same part number as the strips in the Sceptre, but the new backlight strips have 5 leds per strip and the ones in the tv has 6.

So I decided to replace the leds instead. I found 3 bad ones. I had no problem removing the bad ones with a heat gun, they came right out. However the leds on the replacement strip would not come out with heat. I use my solder iron as well, they will not come off.

Anyone know how I can remove those leds without damaging them?
