    T2 : 904 Ohms
    T3 : 918 Ohms
    T4 : 896 Ohms
    T5 : 903 Ohms
    T6 : 908 Ohms

I guess these are all fine. Could it be a problem with one of the ccfl ?

    Thank you !

Yes, transformers look ok so ccfls are next. There are a number of posts in this thread where the wiring has gone bad or a bulb is out. There are pictures and steps on how to get to the bulbs.
Before you start check the lamp connectors on the power supply make sure they are not burnt and you have good contact. Also IF you have a spare lamp and connector you may be able to confirm a lamp is the problem before disassembly.
You need lots of space and time, Bulbs and wiring become very brittle so extreme care is needed so as not to cause more damage.

OK ; I will take the multimeter back to my work, as it ain't mine.

I will try to have a look to those lamps ; I don't have any spare, anyway... maybe I will be able to see if one is burnt.

        Thank you !

I found this connection to the ccfl ! Sorry for the bad quality of the picture, it is 10.00 PM by me (no more sun)

I suppose I just have to cut the burnt part and solder a new wire part ?

What kind of wire do I have to get ?

          Thank you !

Re: Samsung 215tw display cuts out

            Good questions!
Is the wire completely burnt off the bulb?
If not can you connect it all up and make sure the bulb lights.
( I am thinking that if the bulb doesnt light and you want to continue then you may as well buy a new bulb with cable fitted)

Otherwise you will need to see how far you have to cut back to get to good insulation and wire.
I dont know if there is anywhere near you where you can buy the wire.
There is a lot of computer box modding and car modding with ccfls so you might have a computer shop or garage that might sell it.
Alternatively there is Ebay - My French is not up to it and I dont even understand the selling types but this would probably give you enough wire
depending on how bad any other cables are

You might be able to find better/cheaper alternatives

An idea of what is involved.

Alexanna does a lot of these repairs and he just snips the existing wire and resolders. I have no such skills.

Re: Samsung 215tw display cuts out

Is there a way to test the lamp without reassembling the whole thing ? If not, nevermind, I will try to reconnect the wires to the bulb and test the screen. If that still doesn't work, I will buy some cable...

Do those two fit ? As I have three wires, I don't know which one is the low voltage, and which one is the high voltage... what is the utility of the third one ?

I'm not afraid by some soldering, in fact, the scary thing is to reassemble plastic parts tighten with clips... ouch, I hate that !

                Thank you for your help

Re: Samsung 215tw display cuts out

You dont need to reassemble to test as long as the cables reach the board.
That wire at ccflwarehouse is exactly what you need - I didnt know they sold it.
I dont know about the 3 wire set up & cant tell from your picture. Where do the three wires go to? - Is there more than one bulb in a cluster? May be two live and a common return?

Re: Samsung 215tw display cuts out

It looks like a 3 bulb set up, and looks like the picture shows the burnt out Return wire, which is the norm.A lot of Monitors use very poor quality wire, and if one is burnt, then I usually rewire them all, using KYNAR wire, and have done for a long while, and I find it is ideal. It is usually available on Ebay,in 5m lengths, and very reasonably priced. To secure the return wires to the outside of the Channel, I use some very narrow double sided tape, available from a Local Craft shop.

Bought 5 meters of Kynar AWG30

I hope I will be able to fix this, now...

Good luck with it.The good thing about Kynar, is that as it is single strand, you can actually wrap it around the contact on the Backlight,so you actually get a good mechanical joint, as well as the solder, and thats what all solder joints are supposed to be like...(many years in the Electronic manufacturing Industry),among others.

Unfortunately, it still doesn't work. I get the same symptoms, even after changing all burnt wires by new one (Kynar, so).

Any idea ? Maybe the light tubes are bad ? How can I test them, as I have no save tube at home...

                          Thank you !

Ouch. When it is - even a little bit - blackened, that means that the lamp is out of service ?

Then... I think the six (three up and three bottom) are dead !

Edit : I guess if one of the two assembly was OK, I would get an image on the screen... correct ?

If any one of the six lamp is bad, the detection circuit will shutdown the inverter circuits to protect itself, when the the tube has blacken end (worn/burnt electrode), it will draw more current.
A touch of black should be OK, but if the black is about 1/4" or more, then that can be bad, it also depends on the circuit design to tolerate the over current trip point which is set by the inverter designer.

OK... tomorrow, I will take good quality pictures of all the terminations of the six lamps, just to see if I'm right or no.

If that is not the problem, what would be the next trail ?

The secondary resistance was just a tiny bit less than the others (didn't measure impeadance) and it appears the CCFL shorted to the case and I assume, fused a section of the secondary. This xformer runs hot and the tube won't light. Finnally found it with tube/tansformer swaps.

                                        Hey guys,

I had the same issue with the CCFL tube wire burning out and have soldered a fix and hopefully have fixed the problem.

My issue is that I foolishly took no notice of what I took apart in what order when opening up the monitor. Can anyone guide me through layer by layer how to put back together my 215TW?

Happy to provide pictures of what parts I've taken apart if required.

                                        Thanks in advanced.
