I have a Compaq NC 6000 laptop. The motherboard went bad. Found a used motherboard and put it in. I had to put the old processer and menory into the (new) used board from the old (not working) board. Turned on the computer and the screen is black. Did work before replacing the motherboard! Tried unplugging the 2 connection from the monitor and reconnected. Still nothing!!!

Re: NC 6000 black screen after changing motherboard
Check the connection to your backlight inverter. Are there multiple plugs / could they be reversed? Do you have access to an external monitor to try it with? Try unplugging the power cord and battery, then pull the CMOS battery. Wait about 10 minutes to make sure the CMOS is cleared, put everything back and try again. -

Re: NC 6000 black screen after changing motherboard
Got the screen to work. Problem was the cpu was not in tight. I am new at this and learning as I go.
Next problem is now it started a set up process and it shut down. It now beeps and 2 green lights are Hard Drive and MultiBay drive flashing. I have pulled the battery and disconnect the power. Let it set for a few minutes and pluged and put the battery back in. Still the same thing. Anyone thoughts?Comment

Hello,

I am a pro and I have a problem that I have never seen despite my 7.5 years of experience on my own and my thousands of repairs, on a customer's Dell G3 15 3500.
On this PC I have already changed the complete palmrest because the keyboard was no longer working properly.
I also changed the screen because the PC fell and the screen was broken.
I changed the battery with a new and original battery.
I also had corrosion/oxidation on the... -
by Stanley1843Hello to everyone.
My W26361-W84-X-02 motherboard starts but don't show image (no logo screen neither bios). Because, I have two of them I desoldered the bios chip from the no working motherboard and I soldered it to the working motherboard and the motherboard works OK, so the bios firmware isn't the problem. Below I took some measurements from the no working motherboard when is power on. Also, I replaced the RAM and didn't work again (maybe some pins from the RAM slot don't have the right voltage?). I replaced and the bios battery, and I made reset on the bios and again the problem didn't...1 Photo -

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....-

Laptop came in for a SSD upgrade, took everything apart to install the SSD.
Everything started after modifying BIOS settings to boot UEFI instead of Legacy.
Laptop works fine, i installed windows 10 and drivers/updates, everything works ok(when it works)
The black screen problem is random, maybe 5 out 10 times, laptop remains with the black screen, no image
Symptoms are:

by ArchimedesSubject is a blank screen issue in HP Envy 17-3290NR 3D version laptop with motherboard Louis V1.1 6050A2489901 MB-A02. Production year is 2012. This one is a 2nd hand motherboard which I could use it for few months only. Suddenly no output from the internal display and also no signal from HDMI port then Windows out of order after few boots.
Caps lock working normally and no HP's caps-lock warning blinks. Making a hard reset and replacing the RAM sticks or using different slots didn't help.
Fans are spinning. Blindly could install windows11 and got the device manager... - Loading...
