    Aoc Lm727

I have a AOC 17 inch lcd monitor, model LM727 with a backlight problem.
the ccfl lamps goes off after an hour. The Green light stays on and if i look on the screen there is still an image visible , but the lights are off.

I checked all caps with ESR meter, and they were all good. And i resoldered some things in inverter area. But still the same problem

What can be the problem? Is it overheating? How to find the problem?

If the monitor is several years old, I would hazard a guess that one or more of the CCFLs are dying. It could also be overheating. If the timing is consistent, try changing the temperature in the room and see if it has an effect. (Or cover the back to trap the heat CAUTIOUSLY.)

If you had a schematic of the inverter and an oscilloscope, it would be possible to determine WHY the inverter was shutting down. This would go a long way towards fixing the problem.

For a number of reasons, both health and personal, I will no longer be active on this board. Any PMs asking for assistance will be ignored.

Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark. Professionals built the Titanic.

I had one of those and one of the lamps were dead. It failed when hot, so PlainBill's suggestion has sense to me.

okay. I checked the voltage on the IC in the inverter and when the lamps go off, there is still voltage on vcc pin of IC. i think it is indeed the ccfl lamps too. I try with other ccfl lamps . thanks

For some reason I'm just not going to let this 19" TV defeat me. I guess because I have a schematic to work from I feel like I'm oh so close.

History- while adding a turn-on circuit I let a small screw roll under the power board. Worked through all of that circuitry, probably replacing a MOSFET and PWM controller that were not bad but I was following the service manual. Finally figured out that the power supply is in working order when the inverter section (for the backlights) is disconnected. When the +12 supply to the inverter is disconnected the +12 and +5 will come up...

Problem with LG Plasma 60PM6700 - Random power downs
          by theone111
I have an LG Plasma TV 60PM6700 for the past ~12 years.

In the last ~3-4 months I have been having some issues.
          1. Problem: It started with random picture disappearing (sound still worked).
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait a few seconds before turning it on again.
          2. Problem: Then it got worse and the TV started to shut down and when turning on the no picture just sound.
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait about 10-20 seconds and turn it on again to solve.
          3. Problem: TV shuts down

          i have a problem with thinkpad X1 carbon gen 2 "LMQ-1MB 12298-2 48.4LY26.021"
The laptop was turned off because the MOSFET was not transmitting voltage. After checking it turned out that the gate pin on the MOSFET was the problem, because it was producing an inappropriate voltage. and it was discovered that the problem was with the Think engine, so I decided to reprint each pin, and finally the mosfet could work properly. However, there is another problem, even though the voltage has been supplied to the laptop, it still won't turn on, there isn't even an LED indicator. After double...

          Hi,
on my previous post with help from this forum i found short circuit GIF5CH60TS-X
I replace it but again give me error for current over 16A.
I measure again and found short circuit between #15 and #16 (Cin and GND).
On PCB i remove R121 to check in which direction is short circuit. But this pin goed
to big copper piece on back side.
So i try to measure over every resistor and capacitor
But i can`t find any short circuit,
On example circuit of GIF5CH60TS-X is labaled that Cin can goes to GND in some cases:
          1. Through CSF (i don`t know...
